Great modern pib

Went to this pub on a Saturday at mid day and it was very quiet. We ordered garlic bread for starters that was a bit dry but ok. We then had the peri chicken which was very good. The quantity and quality of the food was very good. Waitress was excellent - always keeping an eye on our drinks and... read more

It was very quiet the night we went, but lots of places are quiet midweek now-a-days. We had soup which was tasty and ribs to share which were a bit fatty (I know many are, but I think you can judge when you have really good quality ones by the reduction in hard chewy fat), but plenty of sauce on... Dined here several times for both lunch and dinner and always been very satisfied. Unfortunately last Saturday was dreadful and we had taken friends who hadn't been before. I asked for a table in the main restaurant when booking but we were seated outside infront of the reception desk not a good start but we had no option. We were... More

I went here with my husband for lunch. It was virtually empty. Very nice decor and food was very tasty, if not a little pricey. The young lady serving us was very pleasant but I have to say that wearing black skinny jeans with vertical rips under each knee is not a professional look. I'm extremely surprised that this is... Just back from this hell hole. Don't bother. Got the ambience of a staff canteen and food to match. First off no lamb, no steaks at 6pm on a Sunday. Ordered fish and chips at a colossal £12.95 (only paid £10.95 in a trendy bistro in London last week). After an hour waitress turned up and offered free drinks due... More

Really enjoyed our meal at the Saracens head again this week. Tried their gambas pil pil for the first time, mmmmm delicious, probably the best I've ever had! A really nice pub, in a great location with a very good menu!

After visiting The Saracens Head last year for New Years Eve we decided to come back for the New Years Eve just gone! We had a lovely warm welcome into the pub by the host followed by little canapes and prosecco in the bar, before sitting down for our 5 course meal in the restaurant. The food was beautiful and... Went to this great pub for New Years Eve - had an amazing time!! The staff, and especially Jen the manager, were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us making our group feel really welcome. Dinner was fantastic and the band were awesome .... Drank cocktails whilst playing roulette at the 'fun' casino. Couldn't recommend this pub highly enough.

Unfortunately this place has lost its charm - no sign of welcoming local people - charging £20 for new years eve to walk through the door of a pub and for a measly bit of hotpot with a piece of french stick!! Bizarre! The ship in haskayne was free to get in on new years eve and provided a lovely... More
