First visit to The River Spice, we have recommended many guests there and have always heard very good feedback so it was great to visit for ourselves at last. The food was lovely, good portions and the owner and staff are very friendly. We will keep on recommending and hopefully pop down again soon.

Our second trip to the area this year.No visit would be complete without at least one evening at the Forge Hammer and an Indian Meal in the River Spice restaurant which can be found on the same premises. It's so good we went twice and we were only there four nights !!!! Andy continues to keep a really authentic/friendly pub feel... More

Another visit, 6 months on. Andy and Ali are the same as ever, welcoming and warm hosts. The beer is great and the Indian food as wonderful as ever. A new menu is almost ready, but we have tried some of the dishes already and they are excellent. This is one of our regular destinations on our frequent trips to... More

Visited here one Friday evening recently, after a bike ride in the forest. Food is soo much better than your average Indian restaurant. More interesting choices and it's properly home cooked. Often it's the same chunks of chicken thrown in the sauce of your choice, but you could tell this had actually been cooked in the sauce from scratch, and... More

We've eaten in and had a take away, and we've been very impressed with the quality of the food and service. The menu is excellent with a mixture of original and traditional Indian foods. The pub is excellent, tucked away in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

The restaurant in this pub is a wonderful Indian with exceptional service, the owner Ali was helpful and accommodating and the food was among the best Indian food we had ever eaten. A special mention must also go to the young waitress Elouise who is a real credit to the place.
