Very tasty - and now it's our local Indian restaurant!

Just moved into the area. Our estate agent recommended this restaurant. He was spot on! Excellent vegetarian choices for us. We ate here with friends on Saturday night. We visited the Indian restaurant attached to the Forge Hammer pub on a Sunday evening recently staying in nearby Lydbrook (well over 25 minute walk!) - it seemed to be pretty much the only open place we could find! The food was really tasty, generous sized portions and at a great price - exactly what we were after a long... More

We stayed at a local B&B and found the Forge Hammer to be an added bonus. A good curry and great service from the owners and staff. The food is a modern take on indian food, mine could of been spicier but overall it was good.

Simple but spot on. Excellent value and delicious food. Variations on typical Indian Cuisine were great. Service very good.

We were taken to this restaurant by a local, we were staying at Bracelands campsite and a friend met us and took us to a local pub for our evening meal, we had to leave the pub as they couldn't serve us and she suggested an indian. As soon as we walked through the door we were seated, offered a... More

The Indian Restaurant had been recommended to us and although we were a bit dubious because of the entrance through a scruffy pub, we had a treat experience. The choice was very good with some different dishes from the usual and they were all cooked to a high standard. We'll definitely come back.

Menu was interesting and had a number of dishes that you would not normally find at most Indian restaurants. Our waiter was more than happy to explain what the unusual dishes were and to help us choose. Service in general was impeccable and the food delicious and fresh.

Great food, excellent service. Manager/Owner couldn't do enough for us. My little one was tired and having an off moment and not eating a dish she loves. So they went away and cooked an amazing Biriyani and wouldn't take any money for it. Nor the extra Nan bread. Highly recommend

We were close in the area after a gruelling canoe trip and was in desperate need of food and water (lager dash) so we found the Forge Hammer. Locals were very welcoming outside and inside the welcome continued with the delightful Rachel who made us feel at home with her friendly and helpful demeanour. This is a real pub with... More

The staff were extremely friendly, chatty and helpful, very keen to assist tourists in finding the best places to visit locally. It's well decorated and cosy, there's no noise from the pub. The food was excellent (not quite what we thought we had ordered - a coconut based curry with no coconut, and a tikka masala that was very hot)... More
