Good food, a little crowded

Food excellent after a trek along the wall - if anything TOO popular, difficult to find a seat to sit and eat.

Fantastic beers, really great food and the ideal location to plan your assault on Steel Rigg in one of the more taxing sections of the Hadrian's Wall Way. A fantastic country pub that offers a warm welcome and excellent service. We didn't stay but would have gone back to eat there again for sure!

Came here with a group of two families after walking the wall together, just found it on Tripadvisor. The food was good for all of us - steak pie was excellent - and there is a good selection of beers, including a number of local real ales. The interior is a bit tired, but we didn't care and the friendly... More

We were camping just down the road and came here on our first evening in the area for a meal. The location is fantastic. The Inn itself has probably seen better days and the interior was a bit shabby but it had a lively atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful (no mean thing considering how busy they were).... I had a veggie pasta which was good in quantity and just what I needed after a day on the Wall. Good real ales.

Great location for dropping in after a busy day of sightseeing. Good food and service. Very interesting world map showing the origin of visitors volunteering or working at Hadrian's Wall.

Fantastic atmosphere - steak sandwich and chips to die for. This is a perfect example of a traditional pub, offering wonderful food and awesome beer.

Food was well priced but nothing special. The pub has a good selection of beers and was a welcome sight after a long, cold walk.

Twice Brewed was recommended to us by a local. It was friendly, warm, and the food was wonderful. Guinness and a nice meal, what better than to do it with family?

Great pub, fantastic cosy atmosphere with great food and beer as well as a roaring open fire, perfect after a long walk around the Hadrian's Wall area. The staff are also really welcoming and helpful. We have also used this pub for our family Christmas meal, we were a group of 22 and they cater really well for large groups.... More
