The local pub and just a minutes walk away from the YHA Hostel I was staying at.The food is really great, though some dishes can be a bit pricey, but considering it's the only place to drink/eat for miles I'm not complaining! Our whole party enjoyed the food, well cooked and well presented, and the staff are very friendly. Has... More

Visited here for a Sunday lunch with 2 little ones and the satff were helpful, the little ones were welcomed and the pie was lovely. I had a cottage pie and it had a lovely spicy tang of Worcestershire sauce - really nice family atmosphere.

Staying at nearby Vallum Lodge (excellent by the way) on our Hadrian's Wall walk, the 'Twice Brewed Inn' was pretty much our only option for food and drink in the evening. The pub is one of those long coaching house style buildings that sits parallel to the main road. Our first pint was pretty decent, but the second (a local... More

Very tired place with very mediocre food. They are in a prime position and it could have been so much better!

This Quaint Pub was recommended to us by a friend back in the states before we left for England. It is very close to the middle of Hadrian's Wall if your in the area. We stopped in for lunch and had a great sandwich of English Bacon, Swiss Cheese and Mushrooms all toasted on a fresh Poppy Seed Bun. It... More

Very busy Thursday night so we were a bit concerned about how long we would have to wait for food, but service was prompt and efficient. Very friendly bar manager and a great ale selection. We had the sharing tapas type starter of hummus, bread, olives, nuts and chorizo which was lovely. Both had the steak pie and ships and... More

We stopped here a few years ago while walking on the wall and were impressed with the food. This time we thought we'd have more of the same. Two of us ordered burgers, a tad expensive at £8.00 each. My youngest ordered chicken with smiley potatoes and was disappointed to have hers served with chips. I ordered a vegetable tagine... More

Walking the Hadrian's wall walk we stopped in the area and had dinner at the pub since it was up the road and there was nothing near by. We expected to pay dearly for the food. In fact it was good pub food and good prices. Since everything in the area deals only in cash I was afraid that it... More

Had dinner here whist staying on Hadrians Wall. Service and food was excellent. The manager was very engaging and we had a good chat about the Winter Spine race. I was dining on my own and feling pretty unwell after a tough days walking but was made to feel very welcome and at home. Background music choice was excellent.

About 100m down the road from Vallum Lodge where we were staying this was the only/closest we had for beer/food. They had a decent selection of ales for our refreshments after the 3rd leg of our Hadrian's Wall walk, and we returned here for dinner after we checked in at the B&B. The atmosphere was typical English pub, with locals... More
