Functional but a bit lacking in atmosphere

We called in at midday on a Sunday and opted for the traditional Sunday roast lunch and were served promptly. The roast beef was a bit tough, but the trimmings were all fine. The turkey was much better, still moist and tender. They had some excellent draught beers – especially the Pagan Queen... read more

We were lucky the evening meal at the YHA next door was cancelled otherwise we would never have entered the Twice Brewed Inn. From the outside it doesn't look like anything special and we worried the options would be limited, HOW WRONG WE WERE!! Considering how busy it was (all the YHA and nearby campsite guests were sent to the... More

Stopped for a quick lunch and we were very pleased we did, the food was excellent and the staff friendly. Reasonable prices too.

We stayed and eat here during or recent Hadrian's wall walk. The pub serves a nice selection of ales and the food was plentiful and well priced, just what's needed after a long days walk. The room was ok, clean and tidy with a great view of the wall.

Very nice pub near the Hadrian Waal where you can have a drink and a decent meal after a day of walking. They offer several local dishes, a few vegetarian, and a variety of drinks to choose from. Good atmosphere, very busy at this time of the year. Better arrive early to have a seat. (they serve food from 6... More

We were in here Friday gone, and I must say what a shambles. Only three members of staff, one being then deputy manager, who didn't have a grasp on things at all. He had a bad attitude band didn't really seem to do much, the waitress seemed as if she was new ton the job and seemed in a PA Nick,... More

Initially walked in and then straight out again. The pub is almost without any charm or atmosphere. What a shame, given the amazing location. I would give a much higher score if the pub lived up to the food, which was actually really good: great rib-eye steak!

Delicious food, Great atmosphere! The asst manager played some great tunes all night. The food was delightful and the Twice Brewed Ale was gorgeous. (the local brew called Doris' 90th was pretty good too!) We passed a pleasant evening chatting with other groups of Wall walkers and this really compensated for the shortcomings of the neighbouring Once Brewed YHA )(see... More

I liked the amount of dogs in the place with walkers. Not too keen on the slow service and plastic American cheese.

Visited early on a Saturday and ate in the bar the place is quite big but filled up fairly quickly. Service was quick and staff very friendly. I had the local sausage and mash which was yummy. Friend had the crab and lobster ravioli but found it average seemed an odd combination though. Loved the deserts sticky toffee and fruit... More
