Previous night it was very busy at this restaurant, so we thought it must be very good. But we were disapionted. In the pork and bean stew were more pieces of fat than meat. The chicken dish lacked chicken. The starter was overpriced and not. that good. All in all a disapiontment.

Nice restaurant with v friendly staff. Menu which included regional specialities was only available in portuguese which was not a problem for me but... Bread and olives arrived along with pkare if cheese and meat/sausage. Bacalhau dish was good if a bit light on bacalhau. Litre if house red at 7.50 euros was fine. Bill included a charge for bread... They have a rather normal menu with local and regional dishes. The cooking doesn't stand out, but the atmosphere is nice.

I can surely subscribe subscribe some of the reviews. The entrees are over priced and the main course was eatable, but just it. At the overall to expensive for the quality. I would not go again there.

Service was slow (we arrived towards end of lunch time though) and staff appeared to be happy when we left. Cleanliness is questionable: all tables outside were laid but dead mosquitos were all over the table; restrooms were clean itself but mold was to be found on the high walls. The food itself was ok even though the price was... More

Terrible service. One hour waiting and they never served our food. We cancel the order, so I can not talk about the quality. Avoid it. There are better options there.

When we arrive at mertola to spend the weekend, a esquina was the first restaurant that we saw. (Just next to the roundabout 30 seconds aways from the parking lot. It's a big restaurant, there are 3 floors. The "entrée", a plate with regional cheese and ham was the best part of the meal. However it costed 8,5 € a... More

The food was very good. Service was great too. However be careful if you order anything not on the menu, such as a side dish like a salad. It can cost you as much as half an entree! Also, the apetizer plate of regional cheeses and hams will cost you 8.50 euros, even if you do no eat them!

5 meals listed on the menu which we wanted (loom, frango, salmon, flan and pudding) were not available (at 8 pm). So we had to eat something what we not wanted. And later on the bill was like 2 file steaks. But unfortunately it was the only open restaurant in Mertola. But the the waiter was very nice and the... More

This restaurant i simply a trap. In few words - terrible food, terrible service, terrible prices. In our 14 days trip around Lisbon and Alentejo region, we have never meet any other restaurants as bad as this one, and so expencive for nothing.
