Called in for a quick lunch when I was passing through Barna The lunch menu was adequate and one of the group wanted a different dish which was on the dinner menu and this wasn't a problem will certainly call again when I'm visiting the west of Ireland

This crowded restaurant offered great seafood options, although they were not cheap. The sprawling pub/restaurant also features music two nights a week. Try not to get seated in the far back section, as it is much warmer than the other sections.

Wot a great pub! We have eaten the good food here in the past but this night we just went in for a last couple of drinks on the traditional music night on Saturday ( there's another on Thursday). GREAT atmosphere and the four musicians there that night were wonderful. Good Guinness too. Afterwards a litle walk on the pier... More

Went here for dinner before the Trad on the Prom show, so ended up being pressed for time but the staff seated us, got us cocktails and served an excellent meal in half an hour. We ended up having time to spare and had an excellent seafood meal.

Myself, my wife & daughter came here for Sunday lunch/dinner last week. I felt the food was Very Average at Best. No sooner did we place our order for our starters and they were out within 2 minutes (this always worries me about a restaurant when food comes out too quick!) again when our starters were finished the main courses... Went for dinner on the recommendation of our b&b host and were more than pleased with what we found. Restaurant is busy busy but all staff members are happy and smiling, tables are found quickly and orders taken promptly. Had some absolutely wonderful seafood, the mussels were so fresh you could still taste the sea and the prawns were succulent.... More

No visit to Barna would be complete without a visit to Donnelly's, Set right on the left hand side as you travel to Barna from Salthill is the distinctive blue and cream coloured bar. It's quaint interior and great seafood menu is the reason that I would feel I've missed something if I didn't call in for some freshly caught... More

We stopped here without a reservation and were squeezed in by a friendly staff. The staff were warm and attentive, in spite of being very busy. The food choices were extensive but we chose simpler pub-grub that was nicely prepared.

Driving by on a road trip, we decided to drop in - the first impression: Building looks nice - the second: It's busy..and so it was. The only downside was that we were seated in the room furthest away from the bar :-) other wise, we had attentive service, great seafood and drink, a lovely atmosphere to go with it... More
