Following Tripadvisor's comments we ate here for the first time and were very pleased with our lunch. As noted by others, this is not traditional tapas iberique. Though the sign says tapas, there is no series of small dishes on offer. It is an unusual E15.50 set menu offering, being the choice of... read more

This is a well positioned restaurant but for a UK clientele should not really advertise it as tapas. The food does seem to have a Spanish/Catalan bent but it is not lots of little dishes which is what I would (and did) expect. Having said that we have returned on several occasions, although not as many as we would have... More

This great spot, now in it's third year, is run by Virginie - she blends tradition with creativity using only the freshest local ingredients for clean flavorful food guaranteed to be "made in the house!" We enjoyed the pecillo pepper starter and our fresh fish, beautifully prepared and presented, spiced just right and accompanied by unique side dishes. The knowledgable... More

Sublime terras combined with creative meals and friendly service. The fresh made mousse au chocolat with orange was the best we ever had.

Lovely filling lunch, great food, with the most fantastic views, the staff where very helpful and friendly people, who could not do enough for you, nothing at all was to much trouble, even when we wanted to move tables for a better view. The other dinners all seemed to be French, we where the only English there. Would highly recommend... More

We happened on the Bistro Gourmand on a wine-tasting day in the Minervois. We lunched on their pleasant terrace overlooking the Canal du Midi. The food quality was quite fine, the value of the prix fixe menu was outstanding. A starter of Iberican (Spanish) charcuterie was fabulous, though I also loved my pecillo pepper stuffed with cod brandade. Main courses... More

Visiting foodies friends wanted to eat out to sample something local of quality and this was for me the only option. Compared with other places around generally, this remains for me the best. It is small but very crisp, clean and modern and has excellent service, creative food and good local wines and very reasonable prices.

when boating on the Canal du Midi we stopped overnight at Homps. We used Tripadvisor to decide where to eat (we had eaten at Le Peniche earlier in the week. We had a bit of a walk along the towpath with rain forecast but we were glad we took the decision to chance it (it didn't rain until much later).... More

Loved this new restaurant to Homps. Tapas are really good and the presentation and flavours excellent. Being beside the canal at lunch time is just a great feeling. Well worth a visit and will be back. Paul K

The restaurant is right alongside the canal du Midi. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain, otherwise we'd have been able to eat outside on the decking. We were two large groups of diners, a challenge for any restaurant. The restaurant has a jovial atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. There were several wines by the glass to choose from...
