The bread we were served had more personality than the waitresses ...really bad ...at least the owner came over and talked through the food allergy issues .... that was the only part of the service that was ok. my steak was pretty good ... my wife's scallops were ok ...for the price I would probably go elsewhere next time

We have been to Spoons before and it was good.....this time, (with half the restaurant full), it took an hour and a half for us to be completed. The girls seemed to stay at the back of the restaurant too much with out attending to the tables.......very disappointed ....good food spoilt with poor service.... If they wish to capture the... We booked a table for 2 having moved house and needed someone else to do the cooking. The service was just right and we were made welcome on our arrival. We both had the asparagus starter it was amazing, the flavours fantastic. We then had the fish of the day and the beef cheeks both were excellent. We left feeling... More

We booked for a quiet dinner for two. The setting was quiet enough that we could hear each other and there was plenty of space between tables. The meals and selection of wine was exquisite. Meals portions were excellent, flavours not overwhelming and great technic shown by the chef. Service and attention was just right, our glasses were continually topped. We... More

We had 45 minutes to eat before attending a concert. 2 adults and 2 fairly fussy children; it didn't bode well. We ordered the seafood spaghettini and the chicken breast and the kids ordered spaghetti and a filet steak. Apart from the fact that our food was outstanding, our waitperson knew we were in a hurry and did her very... More

Have been to Spoon a number if times and am always impressed with the food and service. Last visit we had the Arancini and the terrine for entree and both were great. Arancini flavours were delicious and not too oily. Mains were the fish of the day and the eye fillet. Both cooked perfectly. Service is always friendly and prices... More

This restaurant under its former ownership was traditionally the place to eat in Mount Eliza and was always the favourite spot for family celebrations. For no particular reason we had not been back since the new owners took over, but there had been some negative feedback from friends, particularly about speed of service and high cookage charges for BYO wines.... We recently had dinner here. It took about 15 minutes to be asked would we like a drink which is unacceptable. The staffing level is terrible for a busy restaurant. My husband had the calamari entree which only contained 4 small pieces of calamari, taste was only ok, in his opinion & I enjoyed the trout salad. It would have... More

We booked Spoon as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine (F&W) festival. On arrival for lunch we were welcomed and there was already recognition as to why we were there, special menu for $40 for two courses, wine and coffee. The ambiance was good in a high street shop situation, but the owner and staff made one feel very... More
