Ideal Blend of Cuisine & Hospitality

This review is a bit dated; my family and I ate here on Christmas 2013 (could not backdate review). The setting was intimate and warm; the food exceptional; the service friendly and natural. If you want a peak sushi experience in Japan, this is it.

A familiar Restaurante with very nice people, don't forget to offer some sake to the sushi man. The seafood is really fresh and you can taste some unique sushi.

In some ways this place is a tourist trap, but a good one! I am sure the locals pay less than the ¥7,000 per head the tourists are charged but the food is great and the husband & wife team who run the restaurant are fabulous hosts. We had lots of fun, and tasted a range of sushi & sushimi... More

We spent a wonderful time here. The sushi was great, the best we tried in Tokyo while we were there. The owners are very pleasant, although they actually don't speak almost any English. We have made reservation through our hotel as they didn't speak English when we called directly. They explained that we will have a sushi course meal and... More

It was one of the best dining experiences I have eve had. Almost don't want to recommend it so it seats so intimate and secretive:)

Fantastic sushi experience. The chef cuts the fishes in front of you, there is no question whether the products are fresh and good, and the experience was very friendly.

I've lived in Japan for 5 years, traveled around, and been to dozens of sushi places. For dinner at Sushi Inose, it's about 7000 yen ($60). They don't really speak English, the chef husband chooses what you eat, and the wife persistently asks you if you want seconds or thirds on any drinks, which is some pretty unwanted pressure. Also,... More

I LOVED this restaurant! Solid and traditional with a highly skilled chef. I loved the husband and wife duo. They had so much energy and seemed more than happy to teach us foreigners the proper way to hold chop sticks and which beverages to pair with sushi. He even showed us a few of his knife tricks for entertainment. I... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighborhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
