Fast Tonkatsu

This place is very good if you like to taste good curry tonkastu. Menu allows you to order with more or less rice, no to high spicy curry as well as what type of tonkatsu if chicken or pork. They have English menu for westerners so ordering will be a breeze.

This looks like your typical Japanese type of "fast food" but the staff here is extremely polite and they even have an English menu to help you order. They speak some English which makes ordering easy. We always order their seasonal specials which in this case was burger with cheese and spinach curry. Downsized rice and up spice level to... More

Oh my.. All time favorite curry house! Been there last summer, they serve the best curry in town (IMO) i love that because in my place, if we want to eat good curry we must eat in big restaurant chain such as sushi tei and the price isn't affordable.. But in this curry house coco we can eat great curry... More

CoCo Ichibanya is Japan’s most famous Curry House. It's delicious and really worth the price. The entire concept of Coco Ichibanya is surrounded around the fact that it serves curry with rice and meat / vegetables of your choice. The most striking feature about the concept is that it allows you to customize the order. It's delicious and really worth... More

So, apparently curry rice is one of the big underground things in Japan food. Not something that you think about when you think Japanese cuisine, but something the locals love. And with good reason. If you have a good chinese takeout near you, you've probably had something similar to the sauce they serve. The curry sauce is thick and spicy,... More

I love curry and spicy food in general and a friend recommended this place to me. In my one week in Tokyo, I seriously went five times. The hotness levels are not to be underestimated. I eat a lot of spicy food and I stopped at level 3. It tasted really good, no matter the spice level. You can choose... More

I don't know if it's the best I ever had, but it was excellent. The staff are friendly and understand English enough. Asked if I wanted the menu but told her I already knew what I wanted. Food came quickly and I savored the entire bowl. Was nice to sit in peace and eat..every where else was packed.

Yes, just like my review says, best curry in Tokyo. Was not expecting this from a chain. I loved it so much I came back every single day of my tokyo Trip.

Usually in Japan, the restaurants are much better when they are family owned/single restaurants as opposed to large chains. This one however, which spans many countries has the best Japanese curry I have ever had. I still prefer Western style Indian curry, but I have been here in 3 different countries and have never been disappointed. The prices will usually... More

Fantastic place for curry in Japan. Although it is a large chain the quality of the product is very high. I love the ability to customize every aspect of your curry meal including the amount of rice and spice level. I went with level 3 and it was a good level of hot, next time I'm moving up to 4.... Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
