This casual, neighborhood spot is owned by an ex-New Yorker who wanted to introduce real American-style gourmet burgers, upscale comfort food and great cocktails to his Tokyo neighbors. The dining room is simple but stylish - and bright and cheerful at lunchtime - with a six-stool bar area in back and a good selection of blues and R&B on the speakers.

Even though self-professed virtues in restaurant advertisments are widely accepted as tongue-in-cheek, it is refreshing to see that Martini Burger is right-on with their claims. Yes, it is definitely better tasting than most other burger joints. And at 1600 yen per person (we decided to pass on beverages), a meal at Martini Burger is indeed less expensive than going to... Found this place online, the website said it served the best burgers in Tokyo, but I guess that it's going to be biased. Even though it is about a 15 minute cab/ bus journey from central Shinjuku, we made the journey because the burgers looked really good. I had the Skyscraper burger, which was good. However, and it may just... More

Martini Burger is a great treat for anyone wanting a great burger whilst in Tokyo. The beef is fresh and never frozen! The sides are fresh as well and they have martinis as well as beer available. The interior is rather small, but never had an issue with getting a table. Each time I've been there, the owner (a New... More

The burgers are delicious - one of the best I've tasted. Gourmet. The Skyscraper burger is a must try. The experience is a bit like stepping into NY for a while. I'm from the US so I enjoyed it. They even played the Blues Brothers on video. The wife of the owner if a very hard worker and makes the... More

I visited Martini Burger last week around at 8PM. I seemed first customers at that moment, looking around the space. I ordered the Burger, called Fifth Avenue, with potatoes as sides. I was amazed by such a gorgeous, lovely and curious Burger. I really liked this place, atmosphere, variety of food and Martini Burger!

Warm greeting from the owner was appreciated. Menu is quite extensive and quality was excellent - the bun and beef was delicious and cooked to perfection. Pricing also represented good value. Side dishes Macaroni & Cheese and Roasted Potato were the only two items that let the meal down. Mac an Cheese was only warm and lacked the richness and... More

After a week of travelling around Japan and trying our best to stick to local food, the burger craving kicked in. A quick search online had us jumping on the metro and heading out to find Martiniburger (we got off at Kagurazaka station). We went for lunch, and tried the Fifth Avenue and the Bronx burgers, both of which were... More

Although apparently there are places in the U.S. that use English muffins for burgers, this is the only place I have had it that way. I understand they also have soft buns as well now for a more traditional burger. I crave a Martini Burger often and really enjoy the atmosphere. I can't comment on the service as I know... More

Martini Burger you had me at hello....I mean drinks and burgers...burgers and drinks?! I can't think of a better combination for this Brooklyn local who struggles finding food that I can truly say I love when I travel overseas! I'm so thankful for word of mouth on this one!!...So much so that I'm already mapping out my next meal on... More

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
