Very good tempura

We went there based on the many good reviews on Tripadvisor. It was not easy to find but we finally got there after a while from Shinjuku station. The tempura shop is located at Shinjuku east, just opposite the body shop. I ordered their tendon, which was priced at 1220 yen. For me it is just like other tendon so it is not so special. If you order higher price set, they will serve you the tempura one by one so you can eat it while it is... More

The tempura here is fantastic and is cooked right before you. I had the set lunch menu for 1,300 yen. It came with a beautiful miso, rice, pickled veggies and 6 pieces of tempura. It was light, crispy and beautifully accompanied with the tempura sauce and horseradish. Great food. Great experience. Would really recommend this place.

An reasonably enjoyable evening here...service great...food barely OK... This is very far away from high or even good quality tempura..and is really priced in the higher end of the scale. Unless you happen to be staying very close...dont bother there are many far better options!

The tempura here is nice, not too greasy. Service was friendly enough. Be prepared to stink like deep fried foods when you leave. Not bad if you're a tempura lover, but overall, an average experience all round.

Firstly, after not finding this place due to TripAdvisor's map location, we found out that copying and pasting the address from the official website into Google Maps offered the real location of the place. The address is: "東京都新宿区新宿3-28-14" for anyone who wants to copy and paste it into Google Maps quickly. In any case, the food was great. The Tempura... More

Location is great. Super near the Shinjuku central east gate. We sat at the counter, and the chef served us the individually fried tempuras hot from the fryer. Absolutely delicious! I think it would have been much better than sitting at a table instead. The interior was also very cosy. It was an experience that felt uniquely Japanese!

Our family of four really enjoyed our tempura meal at this Shinjuku restaurant. There were English menus and whilst there was not a lot of English spoken, communication was effective. We chose one of the set menus and did't want the eel and they happily substituted prawns. The quality of the tempura was excellent. It was light and crisp and... More

Don't be put off by the lack of English signage and traditional looking Japanese exterior. They have an English menu and the Tempura is freshly cooked in front of you - it is surprisingly reasonably priced. Everything tasted fresh and the vegetables had very good flavour.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
