Breakfast

Stopped here for a quick breakfast which is a little different from the normal, but still nice and has quick access to the subway.

Open from 7 am. About 30 meters from a chain bakery selling a 500円 toast and coffee set (smh)... you can go to Berg and get GOOD coffee with an interesting variety breakfast plate for less. The staff is laid back and friendly and during my visit they had a mix of jam band, beck, and Beatles playing. The people... More

Nice place inside the subway station, the food is fast and servers are all very friendly. The only downside is that it is allowed to smoke inside the restaurant, difficult to get a table in the non smoking area, however, deserves the visit! Very local place.

We grabbed breakfast here twice while staying in Shinjuku. The staff are really friendly, the food interesting and cheap and served quickly. Recommend any of the specials esp. The toast, corn, mashed potato and hard boiled egg which comes with a coffee.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
