Great cheap tempura, a perfect place to start your gourmet Tokyo adventure. Gt there early, the line starts forming at 11am. Sitting at the counter affords you a VIP glimpse of the cooks at work, but I find the smell of tempura magic rather overwhelming. The privacy of a table also affords some conversational air space.

Not that hard do find if you follow the directions of the user below and importantly the fact that it is next door to Segafredo... The clientele was mainly Japanese and the waiters/managers and chef spoke little English but were very friendly and helpful. We chose to sit @ the bar so we can watch the chef prepare and fry... It's impossible not to try some good tempura in Tokyo. At the Tsunahachi (13th floor of the Takashimaya building) you can try a set of 6 delicious items like shrimp, eel and vegetables of course served with rice and miso soup! As usual in Japanese cuisine the presentation is lovely. What's more you pay a reasonable price for a pleasant... More

An old establishment that was packed with local customers upon arrival. Food doesn't disappoint though as it is well prepared. Batter was done well. Service was good as we were foreigners and they explained how some of the dishes were supposed to be savoured. Do visit while in Shinjuku

The restaurant is to the east of the Station, just see directions from other reviewers. The place is really popular, and we had to wait about half hour, line does move fairly quickly. Only tempura and it is quite good, and reasonably priced for Japan. Actually have had, just as good in Vancouver, for considerably less money, but Vancouver is... More

This well known restaurant is located on a quiet side street near Shinjuku Station east exit. It gets very busy so suggest going early or in between peak meal times. The tempura was good, although the batter was thicker than expected. Nice place for lunch in a traditional setting.

Furnished in the store is high quality. The main menu is tempura. Taste is not bad. However, it is rather expensive. Person with money to spend will be good to visit a certain extent. If you want to taste the tempura with a small budget, we recommend "and potatoes" There are several stores in the Kanda area. I can eat... More

Chose to eat at this place based on Tripadvisor reviews and what a good choice. The clientele was almost all Japanese which says quite a lot. However, the corner to which we were ushered was managed by a cook who had some English and much experience making Europeans happy with the food he prepared. No offal thanks. An excellent meal... Having read some reviews of this restaurant I sought it out as I was staying a short walk away in Shinjuku and came away smiling I enjoyed the experience so much. I found the restaurant's website had an excellent English option with a full menu description and it matches what they give you when you're seated. After a small wait... More

In the quest for real tempura in Toyko Trip Advisor had a lot to say about this place. It won't disappoint. A previous contibutor gives the directions perfectly, the entrance is obvious and you will see the counters as soon as you go through the door. If like us you don't know what dip goes with which dish they will... More
