I'll echo what others have said. Go for the 'Twilight Special" from 5-9pm. Breathtaking views. We went at 7, and there were plenty of seats on a Wednesday night. They were generous with the drinks (top shelf). Martinis, sparkling wine, anything you want. The snacks were a good cross-section of Japanese eats. They had a small buffet, plus people came... More

I like the view. Beers are beers and the service was top notch, but the view is what you come for here.

This was a great place to try 'Peak of Joy' at the Tokyo Park Hyatt, which was recommended to us. For approx 5000 yen per person (plus service charges), we got to savour cocktails and beers, enjoy a lovely sunset from the 41st floor over Shinjuku, and try some tasty light food. The service was fantastic. A dessert is even... More

Me and my husband went here for the Peak of Joy offer whilst in Tokyo. For the price (about ¥5000) you do get a very good deal. A four course menu started with nibbles and dips, an appetiser of sashimi and cold carrot soup (absolutely delicious!!!), a main course of pork (cooked to complete perfection), scallops and pasta folowed by... I had to book a place in Shinjuku to meet my Japanese friends on a Sunday afternoon. Since the Peak Lounge made it to the top 15 high teas in Japan/Tokyo on someone's list I decided on it. As the Peak Lounge is a very popular place, there is no chance of being seated before your reserved time. In fact... More

We had tea and cake here whilst we waited for our room to be ready, and it was beautiful. The strawberry tarts were delicious and the service excellent. Not cheap though!

After reading an article on the ‘Peak of Joy’ by Tokyo Weekender I knew I had to try it. 2 hours of cocktails, amazing views and a light meal at around $60AUD it is amazing value for money. In the last 6 months I have been to the Peak Lounge for the Peak of Joy 3 times, each time being... More

We had a quick beverage break here as our room was being cleaned. Good selection of teas - I was impressed by the Nilgiri tea (from South India) that I opted for. The cake selection was not extensive but maybe that's for the best as long menus can end up being very confusing. The best part of this lounge are... More

The Afternoon Tea menu provided a vast tea selection, ranging from the traditional to herbal and japanese varieties. There was also an option to have a completely "Sweet Afternoon Tea" however I have chose the Traditonal "Afternoon Tea" to sample their savoury bites. Both menus were priced the same at 3800Yen. After selecting our teas the finger sandwiches soon followed.... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
