BELIEVE THE HYPE!

This was real fast food. I don't know what some of the others ate who reviewed this so badly but if you do not want to wait to eat and enjoy some "good" steak for around $10USD this is an awesome spot. It's right across from the "Hachi" statue near the Shibuya crossing.

I have had this in a few Asian countries, it is just ok. If you order the larger size they give you almost no more meat just a lot more rice. It tasted bland even with salt lol. It is nothing special, I would look elsewhere for good Japanese meat, there are many fast food places like yoshinoya that taste... More

Hi all, We went to Pepper Lunch in Shinjuku last week. We found this place by accident and we were glad :) the food was so delicious. I ordered steak and it came in a hot plate with some bean shoots, two slices of carrot, few beans and plate of rice. Service is good as usual in Japan. The meat... More

We did not try the Pepper Lunch in Shibuya but the one in Oshiage near the Sky Tree. It was almost 10 pm and we did not have much time to look and find a decent place to eat. We went there and were pleasantly surprised. Service was nice, as usual in Japan. Basically you order meat that continues to... More

We have tasted the Beef Pepper Lunch at their outlets in Malaysia and Singapore. It is my son's firm favourite. So when we were in Japan, we HAD to taste it where it originated. I would say that in Japan, the signature dish was prepared slightly differently from what we were used to, mainly due to the different cut or... More

What is everyone talking about? This isn't food. The meat was rubbery, cheap, and had no flavour. There was no drink option except fizzy, sugary sodas. The sauce was luminous and the most unnatural thing I've ever seen. Yuk! Horrible food, representing a horrible growing fast food industry that is destroying millions of people's lives. It isn't cheap. You can... More

In my opinion this restaurant has the perfect recipe for success: service, quality, fun and great taste. It is a hidden little gem itself, located on the crazy crowded Shibuya surrounded by all kind of restaurants, pubs and stores. The quality of the meat is great and the staff is very friendly. The experience of eat with local people at... More

Went for lunch, after recommendation from a local airmmen. In the mall, so ambience and privacy are not there. You use a ticket ordering machine. This was my first time with one of those. I just picked what looked good, sense i dont know how to read japanese. I ordered a small which was plenty. Good price around 5-8 us... More

The food alone is delicious all on its own and on top of that you get a unique dining experience with their vending machine ordering system as well ad having to cook your own food. Remember to pour their steak sauce all over everything (After you've cooked your meat) and be prepared to smell lile meat by the time you... More

This is Japanese fast food done well. It is a fun experience, the food is of decent quality, and the price is quite affordable especially considering the cost of meals in Tokyo.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
