Once you manage to find this place (35 steps below ground) it’s an awesome place to eat and drink. A wonderful vibrant place with friendly staff. We sat up at the kitchen and watched the chefs cook. The food was delicious and the whole experience...was great- we would certainly go back if we were in town again.More

We sat at the counter facing the kitchen, and the food and service were both exceptional. The best - shrimp tempura with chile mayo, dumplings, wonton, and tuna/avocado salad. The restaurant was full of locals, with a fun and warm atmosphere. A bit tricky to...find - google maps will get you to the right general spot, and then take the staircase just left of the Shibuya Hotel entrance, down 35 steps.More

We lived in the EN Hotel and accidentaly stumbled into the restaurant when having pressed the wrong floor button in the elevator. It really felt like being elevated into a different world. Barefoot people siting on the floor drinking Japanese sake and whiskey and shouting...their orders in a fashion that was surprisingly unlike the courteous Japanese culture we had witnessed thus far. The food, the atmosphere - everything was just sublime, making this one of our biggest treasure finds in Shibuya. Get me back there, please.More

Nice little place hidden in the basement next to hotel Shibuya. Down 35 steps you’ll find great food, English menus and tasty food. Try starting out with the home made cheese baguette, tofu style. Prawns were also delicious.

One of our better eating experiences in Japan over 3 weeks. Our adult son had recommended it as one of his favourites when he lived in Tokyo. Not easy to find but worth the search. Food was great, service was good and atmosphere spot on....Loved it.More

This has been my favorite izakaya for years now... the food is fresh, tasty, well presented and the staff is also very nice, very welcoming and attentive. They speak English and you have an English menu available. Everytime I have friends from abroad coming to...visit, I always take them there. Everything is just perfect !More

A little hard to find bit really worth the search. On this particular evening they were fully booked. With a little persuasion they agreed to take us in as long as we left within 1 hr. Food and service was superb

Japan is known for the great service and kind people. This has been my experience for many years until my visit here. We arrived 10 minutes late for dinner due to traffic and the reception staff upon arrival was extremely rude. Despite having space available,...we were told that because we were late, they would not serve us. This is understandable but the manner in which they dealt with the situation was extremely off putting and rude. A simple apology and denial would have sufficed but his reaction was unacceptable.More

The food is good enough but we took the set menu for four people and we paid 4000 yen per each and got food and drinks that cost much less in the regular menu. One dish for everybody and not four dishes to each person....I felt like i was cheatedMore

Really surprise by all the good reviews ! Really expensive, you must spend 400 yen per person + buy a drink + add tax on all items you bought, and it is not even good... just the environnement is nice. Don't do the same mistakes...guys and let enjoy a better meal for this price.More

Hidden in a basement in Shibuya this was the best meal of our recent trip to Japan. Absolutely delicious, don’t miss the tempura with their special mayo, also the mackerel seared at the table is great. Great atmosphere (Japan has just beaten Ireland in the...RWC) and the food was all really good. Booking is essential.More

The restaurant was a bit difficult to find as it was hidden next to a hotel. Once you find it, you walked down 35 steps (there is a small lift to take you back up). Well worth a visit. We had dinner on our last...night in Tokyo, the food was fabulous and the service was very quick. Good variety of food, nicely cooked and presented. Open plan kitchen. You have to take your shoes off before entering the restaurant. The host can speak English and was helpful with our orders for food and drinks. Definitely recommend it.More

There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.

I'd say it's probably better to make a reservation. We arrived VERY early and were given the table besides the entrance, which is not great. The place is pretty busy so plan ahead.
