Try the ramen with the gyoza!

Ippudo is a good introduction to ramen in general. The soup base is clear and light, yet the the meal is nonetheless filling. I tried mine with the gyoza (set), which was very delicious. I was there at around 1030 pm, and I didn't have to wait long. I was able to get a seat at the counter, which... read more

Hands down, one of the best ramen we have ever tasted! The noodles were perfect and the broth was thick and super tasty. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming and is typical of the Japanese ramen places where you eat by the long tables/bar but you simply have to try this place. If you are ever in Tokyo, you need to... Small restaurant just across where we stayed in Japan. The service was as good as the food. I could eat here everyday. All dishes were to die for.

I've eaten ramen all over the world and when a buddy told me about Ippuden Ramen and raved, I was more than a little skeptical. It was a chain of restaurants. How could that possible rise? Regardless, I followed him through the streets of Tokyo and proceeded to have the best bowl of ramen I've had in Japan for many... More

Recently spent some time in Tokyo. Once a week I would walk down to Ebisu to Ippudo for dinner. Didn't matter what time in the evening I always managed to get a counter seat and watch the guys cook up a storm. Just watching the variety of ramen dishes being prepared had me salivating and wondering if I should have... More

This place has fantastic noodles. The setting is fine but not fancy. The ramen however are unbelievably good. I highly recommend this place -if you can find it.

My boyfriend and I visited this ramen shop after a night of partying. Little did we know that it was going to be some of the best Ramen we had ever eaten. We were walking back to the subway and it was one of the only restaurants that was open around 5 am. As we sat there eating our ramen,... More

We REALLY, REALLY love this Ramen place. Unlike many others who 'knew' about Ippudo Ramen we just happened upon it and thought we'd discovered an unknown treasure. I DREAM about this Ramen. I visit it every time I go to Tokyo. It is located street level in the Ebisu neighborhood (which almost dictates that it's been there a long time... More

This place.... the broth is so creamy and good I slurped it all up! Great for a mid day meal, I recommend going a little bit after lunch because it gets crowded with the locals who work near by. Menu's were in English and the staff spoke it as well, however, the outside sign is not and had a little... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
