This place is tucked away on the 14th floor well away from the glitz/carnage/tack of Shibuya Crossing. There's a fab glass elevator that brings you to the restaurant where greetings are warm and rowdy. Rowdiness is the key at this izakaya. This is a bit of party place being open till 3am and our group of four had an awesome... More

Food was top notch, I hasten to add I am not a food afficinado. 14th floor of E-Space tower in Shibuya. Decent service, food even better. Koruge beef melted on the tongue. Various other dishes and lovely desserts. No IPA Kirin available unfortunately, Service a bit hit and miss mostly due to language skills, but better than many places. Not... More

A good restaurant offering a range of Japanese food, in a bustling atmosphere. The chefs welcome you as you arrive with shouts. Some unusual items on the menu. There are few of these restaurants in Tokyo. Liked it a lot.

Don't be fooled by the fact this restaurant is on the 14th floor - it not a quiet place at all. Rather its a great surprise to arrive to such a bustling venue, a live yakitori cooking station, tatami rooms with sunken tables and then upright seating in the center where you feel part of the action. Chefs shouting 'irashaimsase'... More

My first time in Tokyo. My first time visiting Gonpachi. Had an excellent view. We were in the sushi bar, watching the chefs making the great dishes. Went here two times, and will come back next time I go to Shibuya!

Gonpachi in Shibuya has really delicious Japanese Tapas style food. (think lots of little skewers). The restaurant has a really nice open area, but also has a number of private rooms for business dinners. I really enjoyed the toro (fatty tuna) skewers and beef skewers. This place is not cheap (estimate $100 per person for a full meal with drinks)... More

One of the Gompachi Chains at the top of Dogensaka in Shibuya, it is conveniently located about 10minute walk from Shibuya Station. Let's say one third of the guests are non-Japanese but do not worry. Some of the service staff speak good English, and other languages. However the food, the service, and the prices are not something special, Actually you... More

Yes, this place was popular back when Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi and President Bush had dinner at this restaurant. But unfortunately, that was years ago, and even more unfortunately, I learned that the quality of customer service can drop instantly. Firstly, the waiter served my family and me with THREE dishes that we never ordered. AND instead of apologizing, he... More

This is my favourite place to take visitors to Tokyo for dinner. It's a reasonably priced nice Japanese meal. Portions are small so it's best to order several things to share tapas style. It's great quality without being ridiculously expensive, the service has been excellent every time I've been and there's a great view of Shibuya in the glass elevator... More
