delicious breads

The pastries and breads are fab. Highly recommend the kougin amman - worth every yen of the 400+¥ price tag.

After reading a blog post on five of the best patisseries in Tokyo, it was with great excitement that we headed to Viron. The boulangerie/patisserie has many different pastries, cakes and breads available for takeaway, as well as a bistro upstairs. Unfortunately, the pastries and cakes were a little overrated. The pain au chocolat was a bit dry and the... More

This place sells super delicious French pastry! Recommend the lead shaped pastry with apple sauce inside! It is so good that my husband and I wanted to get one more. Do note this place is pricy. Pastry goes between 250 yen to 1000 yen. But please try at least one piece!

you will think you are on the Left Bank, except for the bean paste croissants. Light, crusty and delicious. There is a cafe upstairs.

We were walking in Shibuya when we passed this small Boulangerie and decided to walk in and buy some bread. When we tried it at the Hotel, we were so surprised with the quality of the baguette and the taste that it became our daily stop in Shibuya. We also had dinner a few times on the 2F where they... We came across this place because there isn't much open for breakfast. The sandwiches look exactly like they would if you were in France. The food and coffee was good although it cost us about 4500yen for two sandwiches and a coffee each! We did see others which a breakfast set with breads and jams that looked great but for... More

Good shot at creating the atmosphere of a French Brasserie. They have some nice bread. They serve it with a set of jams that are all opened and used by all the customers. Alternatively they also sell butter which is quite good. They don't automatically give you a fork, apparently expecting you to eat everything with your hands, but you... More

June-2015 Went with friends after a nice lunch, with better offer. Yet, we wanted to chat further n one recommended that we tried out this new "hot spot". Not too bad a queue when we arrived though we were not quite aware of where to be in queue at first, as the leading stair to entrance was narrow n not... More

The bakery shop was grand and the environment was classic. The cake and tart were nice but quite expansive.

The Japanese are not big breakfast culture and finding somewhere to eat before 10am was pretty difficult in Shibuya. Thankfully we found Viro and I can safely say that it was the best breakfast I had the entire time I was in Tokyo. It wasn't the cheapest breakfast and even at about 9.30/10am we had to queue for about 25... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
