Nice for a try.

June-2015 Went with friends after a nice lunch, with better offer. Yet, we wanted to chat further n one recommended that we tried out this new "hot spot". Not too bad a queue when we arrived though we were not quite aware of where to be in queue at first, as the leading stair to entrance was... read more

The bakery shop was grand and the environment was classic. The cake and tart were nice but quite expansive.

The Japanese are not big breakfast culture and finding somewhere to eat before 10am was pretty difficult in Shibuya. Thankfully we found Viro and I can safely say that it was the best breakfast I had the entire time I was in Tokyo. It wasn't the cheapest breakfast and even at about 9.30/10am we had to queue for about 25... More

I visited this place with a long-time friend, looking for a calm place for discussion. It's not that easy to find in the eternally throbbing Shibuya. The place is, indeed, calm with a nice brasserie décor. The cuisine is truely French, not very good but, I should say, acceptable for the price. The service is the same, too. Decades ago,... More

Options for breakfast seem limited in Tokyo (even breakfast-type cafes seem to open at 10 or 11) but Viron was a good choice, opening its doors at 9. It's a bakery downstairs and as you climb the staircase you find yourself in Paris, complete with french music. It has a decadent vibe and it's a nice place to relax and... More

Exceptional French brasserie and patisserie where you can spend a couple of hours over breakfast and emerge stuffed with pleasure, beautiful breads, delightful sweets and bottomless coffees. Best with company and treated as an occasion - although the truly-Japanese sign your name at the door and wait your turn doesn't give a proper clue to the service and food quality... More

Just got back from brekky at Cafe Viron in Shibuya. Went to Viron because it opens at 9am and I had heard good things about it. (nothing seems to open before 10am or 11am in Tokyo for breakfast!). The pastries were nice as was the Croque monsieur...terrible cafe au lait (i would have preferred instant). From my view, price is... More

A great cafe in Shibuya. The service is excellent. The cafe has a bakery downstairs , order your cakes etc before going upstairs to enjoy the fabulous service and great drinks. I know people have said it is a "bit pricey" but it is not that costly. I would re visit without question.

We went for breakfast. The breakfast is a set menu consisting of a bread basket with an assortment of spreads, and choice of 2 French pastries and coffee. I had a hot chocolate which cost extra. The bill for this was more than 35k yen. Great French cafe but I'm not sure if the high price can be justified! Also,... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
