Worth the price

Had a traditional Japanese multi course meal which was well timed, delicious and beautifully presented. The kimono clad server were gracious and accommodating.

After a few nights of struggling to find anything to eat, this one stood out from the rest. Great cook, excellent staff and very good food and wine. To be remembered!

As there are a finite number of kaiseki orders made daily and there are a finite number of special "sets", I would highly recommend that you make a reservation to ensure that you have the opportunity to select a special set or a kaiseki meal. We enjoyed the ambiance, the service and the food served at Horikawa restaurant and visited... More

The beef is good and almost melts in the mouth. However, the young teppanyaki chef who speaks decent english is not friendly and appears a bit cocky. It spoils the whole experience as i have much better service in most Japanese restaurants.

Authentic Japanese cuisine. Their menu changes so that they can serve seasonal cuisine. Hilly recommended. Very reasonably priced.

Service is fantastic. The chefs are very professional and speak good enough English. Watching them work is a treat. Their grills are spotless and the whole preparation process and service is a treat. There are temple yaks options for vegetarians, meat, fish, chicken or pork lovers. The food is delicious and very tasty. It's not cheap but you're not going... More

This Restuarants is located within the Century Southern Tower Hotel. Reservation strogly recommended. Its defintely on the high side, concerning the price but its excellent. In my 5 days trip to tokyo I visited the teppanyaki restaurant 2x and was never disappointed.

We were staying at the Century Southern Hotel, and we were looking for some place that was good but also close. This was on the 19th floor. The service was great, the food was great, we had the fixed menu. My husband tried the red Japanese wine which was quite nice and I had the plum wine which I really... More

2nd time to dine here. Significantly better this time round in some aspects. The staff were far more welcoming this time, our waiter was very respectful, the chef was talkative and amicable. The course I had was the same tepanyaki course as before; soup (tomato & bacon), vegetables, beef (medium), garlic fried rice, miso soup. Dessert was fruit. Overall great.... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
