The restaurant is a great place for fish and seafood, and their selection of sake is as good as all the other reviews state. However, considering the price to the service the grade falls to average. All our dishes were served out of sync with the company and by the time I was on my 3rd course, my girlfriend received...

We went to Kaikaya after reading good reviews here. Our experience is totally different! The food was really good but several small things destroyed our evening...
Firstly, we checked the prices on their website before we went there and they were about 20% lower than the actual prices in the restaurant. Secondly, the waiter was surprisingly offensive, commenting our order...

Kaikaya is unique. I no longer live in Japan but make a point to visit every time I return, and give anyone travelling to Tokyo detailed directions and a list of what to order! The atmosphere is a little quieter since they opened the extra non-smoking section, and the place looks rather bare since they took down all the polaroids,...

"Kaikaya by the see" is a very special restaurant in Shibuya/Tokyo.
The guests are a vivid mix of old, young, stylish, business, couples or big group of friends.

The service is very personal, positive and outgoing.

Not so easy to find in the busy little streets of Shibuya, but worth searching for it. Don't give up: the food is just delicious, the atmosphere open and fun. A mix of locals and western people. Best to make reservations as There are only about 10 tables!
Great food in a typical Japanese atmosphere fish is fantastic and service friendly. They can surprise you with some meat too. And the price is a positive end
Hands down one of the best places I have been. Totally chill great service and amazing food Get the tuna on the bone. Very unique dish an the rock shrimp. The sauce of the rock shrimp is to die for. Coming back here again and again. Outstanding
We booked a reservation at this place and unfortunately were not really happy with the experience. We had 5 dishes and none of them were very good or creative (including the signature dish that I would skip next time). The best part was the staff and service as they were really great and fun.
A nice little restaurant with very fresh seafood and warm service in a slightly boisterous but thoroughly enjoyable setting. The food can best be described as Japanese given a modern twist. As none of us had been there before, we decided on the omakase, which turned out to be a 12-course feast for just ¥4,500!
The meal kicked off with...
