Pros. 1. Very unique, original French with Japanese essence. Each dish has a little bit of inventions and surprises. Nice for conversation over meal. From that stand point, it is worse $$$. 2. Nice and quiet location. 3. Good service. Pros. 1. $$$. My bill ended up with 50,000 Japanese Yen for two of us. 2. No dish had "outstanding... More

The service by Kohei Taguchi as Chef Sommelier was exceptional. The dining experience was too. Our menu was delightfully entitled "un souhait et la lumiere." What followed was 11 courses of delicacies, including one called "from an idea of apple pie #1." A culinary treat.

Fantastic food. From start to finish. Not only that but the service was first class. Informative, witty and warm. My friends were blown away by the whole experience and declared the dessert "the best they'd ever had". Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommended.

We had the full menu at lunch time and were blown away by some of the combinations done by the Chef. Lots of modern techniques used, deliciously fresh ingredients and nice textures. Service is top notch and the interior is made to really make you feel comfortable. The lunch menu is a real bargain, especially for a Michelin restaurant. Definitely... More

Lunch here was probably the best meal of our trip to Japan. Chef takes simple local ingredients (such as a turnip in his signature dish) and creates inspired dishes. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable and have such pride in the cuisine. Dessert was a revelation and included a clear espresso flavoured jelly, but all equally memorable. Do visit but be... More

I was there for dinner, and I really enjoyed it. for me it was without any doubt one of the best meals I had in my life. the chef, Namae Shinobu, has created an incredible menu where each dish coming to the table surpirsed me more than the... Have dined twice at L'Effervescence and both times enjoyed it very much. The service is very good and they have good English speakers also. The Chef here was a sous chef at The Fat Duck in Bray, we have also eaten there and so were very much looking forward to seeing what themes and ideas would be placed in front... More

This is the second time we've dined at L'Effervescence. Both times we've had had to change the time and details of the reservation and the staff has been very helpful and accommodating. In fact the second time they welcomed us back. The service both times has been impeccable and the food both delicious and imaginative. The molecular gastronomic touches are... More

You cannot go wrong when the chef worked under Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck. It is located in a very discrete location in the back street off of Koto Dori. My favorite dish is the apple pie, which is packaged like a McDonalds apple pie. The chef changes its filling every month and I cannot wait to see what... More

After ordering our wine for the dinner and finding it being corked, we sent it back and followed with two other bottles at almost three times the price of the bad one. When presenting the check, the corked wine had not been taken off. After complaining, the manager Sosuke Aoshima refused to take it off of the bill. Two very... More
