The reservation was easy to make, we did it online and they were good at emailing back without delay. First impressions of the restaurant - clean, hygienic, welcoming. It's underground and very small - intimate dining which included maybe 10 seats at the sushi counter and 2 tables behind. Unfortunately, we sat on the table which wasn't so bad. We... More

I have contemplated writing this review for some time. My wife who was completing her 7th trip to Japan and my first trip; whom of which are avid Sashimi Lover's decided to go to this expensive restaurant base don reviews. That being said most of the locals we spoke to said that there were more authentic places to go as... More

The location is a bit off-putting, but Yasuda san is warm, welcoming, and charismatic. The sushi itself was delicious, but I can't make any claim of being a connoisseur. I wouldn't turn people away from this restaurant, but as there are probably hundreds of delicious sushi restaurants in Tokyo, I wouldn't return here for a second round without giving all... More

The Omakase was great. (I haven't tried Sawada or Sushi Saito yet so I can't compare Yasuda to them) The Sake (Hokkaisan, my favorite) was great. Yasuda was a bit corny but humorous none the less. The sushi was good. He uses sea salt as his signature and it works so well with Uni. It just melts in your mouth.... More

Reservation is a must as there are only 8 counter seats and two tables and can only be done one month in advance through their website which is user friendly and provides a direction map. It’s a bit of an email ping pong process though but then they don’t ask for credit card details and there is no cancellation fee.... More

Without knowing who Chef Yasuda is we booked at this restaurant expecting a unique Japanese Shushi dinning experience .(We soon brought ourselves up to speed about chef via our device at the table) What a complete disappointment and waste of $$$ and time . The conversation was full of pretentious name dropping and boring work out anecdotes. There is no... More

I had sushi together with my two sons. We had seats at the counter bar, which I recommend. Chef Yasuda made incredible tasting sushi at a good pace. The dinner lasted almost 2,5 hours, Highly recommended!

The sushi is Not the problem. Though, in fact, he forms the sushi into small, round shapes which is a bit odd and cheap. The main problem came when I first set foot in the door and saw all foreigners at the bar, and Yasuda-san talking blithely in English. His ego-inflated "man-splaining" went on and on in a way that... It was our second visit to Sushi Bar Yasuda, and this time we brought our two grown-up kids who are visiting from the US. Chef Yasuda brings a lot of energy and passion into his work. It's a relaxed and enjoyable experience being at the counter. (Ask for this when you reserve the seat.) His tuna roll with scallion is... More
