A slice of the US in Tokyo

Ok, we were not very adventurous choosing this place to eat but it had been a long day exploring Tokyo with our lovely guide Miki and after only a short rest and recovery session back in the hotel we had again ventured out to see the Tokyo tower. So it aa about t8:00 that we happened upon Vashon... read more

Stopped in for a latte. Added an extra shot but still not enough punch. But ok for Japan. Some American beers on offer too.

Went a couple of times with friends during my time in Tokyo as I stayed at a nearby hotel. Burgers were all great and the pasta I had for lunch one day was also decent. Staff speaks very good English compared to the standard Japanese restaurants and English menu also available. Coffee is excellent and prices are fair.

Don't wonder why a town in the corner of the US has been become the fashion center for 'coffee'. Just enjoy....

Looking for a change from Japanese we went in to Vashon. We had a friendly reception, staff spoke good English and their was an English menue card. Range of food was limited, mainly hamburgers of various sorts, and fish and chips. We had their pork steak which was excellent. Everything was well cooked and very nice. Price was very reasonable... Pretty good burger place. My husband for turkey sandwich. Very tiny place inside. Not really good place with stroller and baby. We were sitting outside. I loved my burger.

Fancied a change from the local fayre so tried a burger and a bottle of American Sauvignon Blanc. Thoroughly enjoyed both.

It is really hard to find American style sandwiches in Tokyo. Vashon is one of very, very few that hit the mark. Thick slices of turkey, bacon, and avocado (turkey clubhouse sandwich) make up a very filling sandwich.

This is on the main road between the huge Hamamatsu-Cho train station and the attractions of Zinjo-ji Temple and Tokyo Tower. It is small and unpretentious but delivers what it says it does - a good selection of beers as well as Seattle's Best Coffee - and a smallish selection of food - which is enough when you fancy ribs... We are from Seattle, and frequent the Pike Market. We walked by this and decided to give it a try. I am glad we did! Food was EXCELLENT! We ordered the fish and chips, nachos and Mexican Burger. Everything was as great. The food was better than some of the food we get back home in the real Pike Market.... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
