Great but very expensive

We had dinner here on our second night in Tokyo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is really small, it has a pi shaped table and at the fourth side the cooks are seated with the coal bbq in front of them and the uncooked food. Whenever one wants something you ask the waiter and he tells the... read more

The Grand Hyatt recommended this restaurant; it is within walking distance, and walking there at rush hour was fun. Great people watching. The restaurant has a small curtained entry -typical Japanese but a bit odd in this neighborhood of towers and just across from the Ritz-Carleton hotel. It's a small restaurant - make a reservation. On arrival you'll get a... More

We entered into small place to sit on U shape counter where 2 kitchen members prepared and grilled our selection. The selections were displayed to separate chef area and out sitting. We selected and they cooked. It was a good fun and each time, the service crew called the order, they would response and they were fun and great hospitable... More

These reviews! If you're looking to spend 50~100 U.S. dollars for a small group by all means go elsewhere. However, the prices are clearly on their website and you can order a la carte. Lovely set up, engaging atmosphere, fresh sashimi & perfectly seared Kobe beef, as well as delicious sake options ranging from simple to pricey; everything you want... More

SAVE YOUR MONEY! Going to this place was the worst part of our trip to Tokyo. We got tricked by the owner/manger into paying $300 for 2 people for average food with a bunch of tourists. Spend your money elsewhere.

The only thing I can say is that, unless you are a billion-dollar foreign businessman, a legendary rock-star or just an ignorant fool, you will find this place utterly disappointing. And for one good reason: this place is run by a gang of robbers. As was already pointed out by few informed reviewers (don't consider the other reviews), paying $200... More

Imagine the excitement of being seated at a gigantically large table, where all the customers sit around the outside edge, all the raw food that will make your meal are arrayed on the table & in the aquarium in front of you, and beyond that sit the chefs who will prepare your meal. When the dishes are finished, they're so... More

The main reason to have dinner here is not the food but the show of the preparation of the food, the loud voices of the waiters screaming something you will not understand while cooking all the ingredients they have in front of them (and in front of you), which you can basically choose by pointing your finger on the various... On our last night in Tokyo we were referred to Robtaya and although the place is lively and a site to see as far food prep is concerned we were not prepared for the price. Taking the layout a little for granted we assumed too much and got stung as there was never any menu presented and as English speaking... More
