Good quality at reasonable prices

The sashimi and sushi here were not bad for the price paid for. They were fresh and came in pretty thick slices. The cooked food was a tad salty though. The only gripe I had was the long wait for a table, but it was more than made up by the food and the friendly service.

Highly recommended although we had to wait for 50 minutes for a place for two. It was the only restaurant in the area with a line of waiting diners. But we weren't disappointed. Very friendly service. Sushi was very high quality at very reasonable prices. No hesitation in recommending this place very highly.

The sushi pieces are the largest I've seen and amazingly good! Other reviewers have commented about the size of the pieces, but seriously be careful not to over order, they are huge. Also, don't show up very late because they stop issuing seating tickets once the queue is full for the evening...happened when we went around 8:30. Enjoy, I definitely... More

In Tokyo where you are bombarded with sashimi galore, it's hard to discern the good from the bad. I'd seen some positive reviews on TripAdvisor for Umegaoka Sushi no Midori especially for their Shibuya branch. The were warnings that there could be a little bit of a wait at lunchtime so we resumed stumbling around Harajuku hungry. To our delight,... More

The atmosphere is very laidback and nice. Staff is friendly at understands some english. The sushi though is excellent and ridiculously cheap! Too bad we didn't find this gem before our last night in Tokyo.

The sushi, miso soup and other types of Japanese food are all excellent. What more can I say. Other than...the staff are really wonderful too. This is my local restaurant. However even although we eat here very regularly it always feels like a special occasion and I look forward to it every time. The queues are getting longer though as... More

Only drawback was the 1h 45m waiting time as we arrived on a Saturday after 7pm. Also, the staff call out the numbers in Japanese soooo it can be even longer if you don't know the language... Once seated we had the sushi combinations, which are reasonably priced and the quality is excellent.

If you are a sushi aficionado, especially on a budget, THIS is the place for you. While it's not particularly fancy, the emphasis is on...the SUSHI! You know it's gonna be good because there is usually a wait! They have an easy-to-use computer system where you sign in and get a number (although they only CALL the numbers in Japanese!)... More
