I spent my honeymoon in Japan, where I have been to wonderful restaurants, but this one really surprised my and my wife, and I consider it the best dinning experience I had in Japan! I found the restaurant by chance, walking down from the Tokyo Tower on a rainy day. I noticed the beautiful gardens and decided to enter the... More

I've been to Japan many times and this has to be my most enjoyable eating experience. I was taken as a guest by colleagues who went to great lengths to ensure that the menu was completely vegetarian for one of the party. We had a private room and the whole ensemble was a delight. Lots of intricate dishes served by... More

We went here for lunch with my extended family who were visiting Tokyo and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and environment of the restaurant. We had a prix fixe lunch course and although Tofuya Ukai is known for their homemade tofu, the other lunch dishes were very good as well. They served a good mix of seafood, meat and vegetable... Took a group from a valued client here for lunch, along with others from my company's Tokyo branch office. Had been to the original of this chain, Ukai Toriyama, which is located an hour's train/bus ride outside of Tokyo in the valley area surrounding Mount Takao. Amazingly, though you are literally at the foot of the Tokyo Tower, Tokyo's version... More

If you are looking for a healthy and rejuvenating start to a Sunday or to enjoy quality time with friends and family away from the hustle and bustle of manic Tokyo, look no further than an idyllic lunch at Toufuya Ukai. Toufuya Ukai offers a seasonal choice of tofu kaiseki starting from 5,500 yen for lunch and 8,400 yen for... More

This is an old school tofu restaurant in a beautiful Japanese garden complex. We got a private room and a very attentive server. The whole experience was lovely, and a very good deal for lunch, though not inexpensive. I would not call the food exciting, but the quality was high. Some of the fish dishes, though, may not be a... We felt like we had fallen in a tourist trap with lots of tourists groups and a value for money which was not that great, let's say we were expecting more having heard from various people of that place but the tofu dishes were good but not amazing and the overall experience was enjoyable although we would not go back.
