The restaurant is located near the foot of Tokyo Tower. You are lead through ornate gardens into the restaurant which has a very traditional Japanese feel to it. As suggested in the name, Tofu features strongly in the menu, although it is used in a variety of interesting ways and surprisingly tasty. We had peanut tofu with salmon sushi, deep... More

This is probably one of the best settings for dining in Tokyo -- authentic historic structure in the middle of a vast landscaped Japanese garden right beside the Tokyo tower. This is my third visit to this restaurant and can say by now that it is actually cheap for its price considering not only the food but also the ambience.... More

Located inside a traditionali japanese house, Shiba is one of the best kaiseki japanese cuisine experience. Don't expect to come here to have a big food dinner or if you are craving for a fulfilling dinner. This is more a cultural experience: starting from the place with the view on a traditional garden. Traditional is the furniture, like an old... More

Nice Japanese fine dining experience inside the cozy traditional garden & building. All dishes were at small portion with good taste. Excellent services and beautiful surrounding environments. Lunch menu set is 56xx yen up, dinner menu set is 89xx yen. So, if you wanna have jap fine dining experience, lunch set is a good option.

I am not a tofu fan, and still not, but I have to say that the setting and artful presentations of this lovely restaurant are worth the visit. If you are in Tokyo for a few days, it is worth one of your dinners.

Everything about this restaurant was special. The beautiful grounds and traditional Japanese garden and pool were lit up like a fairyland. The traditional style building was great with some interesting artifacts. The staff were well trained and very pleasant. The food was exceptional. I don't rate tofu as an exciting food but the few tofu dishes that were served were... More

The location is wonderful, the restaurant is at the foot of Tokyo Tower. The food is simply outstanding and made with great skill. We had sushi, meat and beer. Overall, nice place to spend a great moment.

My husband and I recently visited Japan to meet up with our son who is currently teaching there. We were fortunate to be able to have dinner at Tofuya Ukai after visiting the Tokyo Tower late in the evening. You're transported into a different time when you enter the gardens. They are absolutely beautiful. I would have paid just to... More

We just loved this place. The whole experience is a bit like staying in a Ryokan, with private lunch/dining rooms and private "waitresses" (or hostesses may be a more appropriate word). And the food is just amazing... A similar kaiseki meal you can expect in a Ryokan, maybe slightly less sophisticated though. And as a final bonus, there is the... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
