Fantastic atmosphere - a real experience

Really enjoyed this restaurant, it has a lovely central Japanese garden and many of the dinning rooms look out on to it - quite a magical feel. I was ordered for - the food was very enjoyable but not sure about value for money.

The wonderful setting in Shiba, behind Tokyo tower is a treat and the convenient dining experience will give your overseas visitors a glimpse of what an opulent dining experience could be. If you would like to get the best of Ukai Tei, you could then consider the Haichoji main restaurant which serves beautiful teppanyaki. However at Shiba, do not expect... More

We were lucky enough to have our Christmas lunch at this fantastic restaurant. 10 of us enjoyed our own private room overlooking magical Japanese gardens. Our meal was spread over about 3 hours, fantastic service, coupled with excellent food, Tofu being at the heart of most courses. The chef visited us at the end of the meal to complete a... More

Great setting in tradtional japanese garden, with private rooms and very attentive service staff. Was formerly a sake brewery, now offering japanese kaiseki with tofu featuring in many of the dishes. I have never experienced being served so many dishes of tofu in one seating, and yet enjoy every single dish. Wonderful expressions of the different textures of tofu. The... More

I had the privilege to spend an evening with colleagues at the gem of a restaurant. The place is a true oasis in busy Tokyo. It offers an experience of dining in an old country estate, while located right at the foot of Tokyo tower. Each of the 7 courses were exquisite and I personally love tofu for which the... More

The restaurant is right next to the Tokyo Tower and is reached through a Japanese garden. Delicious food with Tofu specialities. Dining in private rooms.

The restaurant is located near the foot of Tokyo Tower. You are lead through ornate gardens into the restaurant which has a very traditional Japanese feel to it. As suggested in the name, Tofu features strongly in the menu, although it is used in a variety of interesting ways and surprisingly tasty. We had peanut tofu with salmon sushi, deep... More

This is probably one of the best settings for dining in Tokyo -- authentic historic structure in the middle of a vast landscaped Japanese garden right beside the Tokyo tower. This is my third visit to this restaurant and can say by now that it is actually cheap for its price considering not only the food but also the ambience.... More

Located inside a traditionali japanese house, Shiba is one of the best kaiseki japanese cuisine experience. Don't expect to come here to have a big food dinner or if you are craving for a fulfilling dinner. This is more a cultural experience: starting from the place with the view on a traditional garden. Traditional is the furniture, like an old... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
