Unfortunately the Ritz Carlton Tokyo known for the location and views should really be known for their 15% service charge for very poor service. Taking 15 minutes to get a drink, and then having to chase down a waitress for another round while paying 15% service charge is not the level of service vs. charge let alone it is the... More

For the "bar"part. The mediocre cocktails and $1000 flashy drinks aren't good value at all but coming here for lunch or afternoon tea is a GREAT plan - it's affordable for excellent quality fare with the best view in Tokyo. Beautiful, Seasonal cakes and the sushi, burgers and soba noodles are outstanding. Very modern Japanese decor with comfortable chairs and a... More

The Ritz Carlton Tokyo in Akasaka is my absolute favorite afternoon tea in the world. Why does this place rank number one in my book?? Usually people would except London or Hong Kong to house the best afternoon tea/high tea, however that is not true. The selection of tea really stands out at Tokyo RC. After you make your tea... Gorgeous hotel with good staff and huge rooms! Well located although mainly we took taxis which were easy to manage as the concierge would brief the driver in Japanese if you don't speak any

The Tokyo RC is absolutely gorgeous! From the building to the lobby and the view out of your room of the entire city!!! Its gorgeous! My husband and I are honeymooning and this is our last stop. We agree its a wonderful end to our trip. The only differences are btwn this RC and others around the world... We believe... More

Well a last minute decision to go to Tokyo meant we couldn't stay at the mandarin oriental as usual for New Years. We decided to try the Ritz as a friend had recommended it to us. It's ok, not bad, definitively not great, but ok. Bad points: Embarrassingly I had to put tape over a small tattoo on my shoulder... More

We enjoyed a few extra days at the RC after several days skiing in Hakuba. The hotel is a short trip away from central Tokyo via taxi or tube. They provide a very professional delivery of service to all customers on arrival and throughout your stay. The rooms very amongst the most comfortable we've stayed in. The double electronic blinds... Chocolate fragrance purposefully pumped into the huge lounge, which serves drinks and snacks as well as teas. As the evening wears on, the best place to enjoy a cigar in the huge ceilinged venue, and enjoy the city views from 40 plus floors up.

I am unclear why anyone would think the Ritz Carlton Tokyo "lobby lounge and bar" would be worth visiting, unless that person was incredibly wealthy and enjoyed smoking and didn't mind if no one understood what he/she said in English and didn't mind waiting eons to be served his/her overpriced drink. The Lobby Lounge, on first glance, is impressive, but... More
