Me and 7 buddies walked 10 minutes from the place we were staying at over to Gonpachi. The setting and atmosphere is good but the service was terrible. The waiter was definitely trying his best and spoke perfect English but other tables didn't get cleaned, constant requests for receipt corrections and long wait for food! That wasn't even us... Who knew that a 5 minute walk from our hotel (Grand Pacific Le Daiba) that we would find a shopping mall with multiple restaurants, one of which was Gonpachi. The place is dark wood, casual, but with great water and city views. The menu extensive of yakitoris, some interesting salads, a few meat & fish and ranges from inexpensive to... More

A great variety of tasty Japanese food! If you're looking for a place where you could eat some authentic Japanese food, this is the place to go. Menu's are English friendly with many bilingual staff, so it's great place to try if you don't understand much Japanese. The price is during lunch hours on weekdays are very reasonable, but it... When we entered, we were a bit surprised that this restaurant didn't look similar to the Kill Bill scene at all.. Food was okay, although somewhat overpriced. Service was good! Beer was excellent (followed the advice of other reviewer: "surliga bay... imperiale.. beer" don't remember the name), higher in sugar and alcohol, similar to a Trappist triple or e.g. La... More

The place is good enough that we went back at least twice during our 3 weeks trip. Staff are friendly, and speak enough English to be helpful to foreigners. Food is not the best but definitely on my top choice list. Only thing I did't like was the selection of food, its not a typical izakaya or yakitori stand. The... More

it’s a fun place… a three-level, noisy restaurant that looks like a castle on the outside. It was a little unsettling when I dropped a chopstick, which bounced off our table and dropped hole-in-one style into a woman’s glass on the level below ours. Someone wrote that they didn't have an English menu but I swear we saw one with... More

This restaurant is located a nice area which is called "Odaiba". You see a very beautiful scenery from the restaurant. The time I recommend to go there is before sunset. The menu doesn't have English, so it is difficult to find good food. I will give you the menu I recommend. Nikujyaga: It is a stew of beef, potatoes, and... More

When a restaurant has inspired a famous scene in a movie you like, you have to go there. and apparently Gonpachi inspired the killing scene in Kill Bill - which sound likely once you step into the restaurant. This also makes the restaurant incredibly popular and therefore we were able to only get 2 seats at the counter. While it... More
