Expensive, but worth a visit..

Wend for dinner with three customers, the food was expensive (but remember you are in Japan!) so this must be considered! Food was lovely, great service levels, and fantastic support when asked questions from my guests! We all felt yes, expensive but we would go again!

I had the Hong Kong crispy pork and broccoli and it was delicious. The service was on point as they always seemed to know when I needed their attention. However, the bang for the buck wasn't there. Yes, the restaurant is in the Conrad- I just expected to be blown away. Maybe I was expecting nothing short of spectacular.

This restaurant is nothing short of fantastic. It is pricey but definitely worth the price. The setting, within the Conrad Hotel on the 28th floor is as spectacular as the food they serve. Service is fast and friendly. We sampled several gourmet menus and all were equally memorable.

Full marks to Chef Albert Tse Wai Shing of the Conrad Hilton's Chinese Restaurant in Shiodome Tokyo. On our recent visit and at almost no notice whatsoever he and his team produced a 7 course gourmet meal and made it vegetarian throughout. A second meal later in the week was different and hit he same culinary standards. The team at... More

Had a top lunch here, with wonderful views out to the bay. A good priced set menu with tasty dim sum to start, a delicious pork main and interesting iced dessert. Good service, cool decor.

Four us ate the week before Christmas with the "special" Christmas menu. It involved extenstive use of luxe ingredients - but all of them treated shabbily. There was an inedible amuse buche of pork that was so hot (temperature not spice) that all of us burnt our mouths. The meal finished with a desert drink of passionfruit drink - Passiona... More

For Chinese-style food, it was quite innovative, but the concepts and execution were not always on the mark. The food performance was a mixed bag; definitely room for improvement. My wife and I had the prix-fixe menu one level up from entry level. The amuse-bouche, two small mulled apple slices, was unremarkable. In my opinion this could have worked much... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
