So many fond memories are etched in my mind enjoying warm saki and cool Kirin beer here with world-class Japanese corporate leaders and my fellow global investment bankers. A special place in my heart with reflections on my initial engineering-construction sales / contract administration job with the then leading American firm of M W Kellogg....

My husband looks forward to his evenings here when we are in town. This bar is a classic....soon to be no longer. It is truly a man's bar. He will sorely miss cigars here when the main building is demolished.

If you want a glimpse of Tokyo in the 60s, look no further than the Orchid Bar at the Hotel Okura! Enjoyed a few whiskies and the ambience one night after dinner in the neighborhood. And they have a non-smoking section which was a nice change!

This is a main bar at the hotel. The service is pretty good as all the other facilities in this historic place. There are separate areas for smokers and non-smokers. The atmosphere is nice. The price is at the level of the category of this kind of hotel. There aren't so much distinct characteristics for my taste, though.

Hotel Okura is know for its best in class service with rich Japanese traditional character. This Orchid Bar is its main bar in the main building. Classic ambience with knowledgeable bar tenders, whose service reach every aspect which would make your time at this bar pleasant, relaxing and memorable. Their inventory of rare whisky, liquor, wine and spirits are quite... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
