My wife and I have eaten at a lot of top restaurants and we both think that dinner at Takazawa is the best! It is easily 3 Michelin star quality! Our meal was perfect in every way: the food, which was a work of art on a plate and actually tasted better than it looked, and the service, which was... More

Our expectations were very high having red all the reviews, not only on TA. After many weeks waiting and several e-mails with the very charming Akiko, we finally had the honor having the chefs special course menu. Only 3 from the 9 dishes were classics, all the rest were new as most of them were made with very seasonal ingredients.... More

Just fabulous. From the minute you arrive until you leave HOURS later it was amazing. Something neither my husband nor I had done before. It becomes a story, with everything being explained to you along the way, course by course. The food is to die for. They made it extra special for me who was celebrating my birthday while in... More

Went in Dec of 2012. Reservations weren't as hard to come by as I expected since we had our hotel concierge at the Conrad make them for us. As for the restaurant, what can I say? It was hella expensive but if you're even looking at a place like this, that's not likely to deter you. The food was very... More

The food is exceptional, there are no words and the creativity is beyond... Each single meal is jaw dropping and... surprising.... This should be taken as a privilege to be hosted by such a charming and humble couple. Sure this is pricy but compared to a lot of "3 stars Michelin", I've never spent better on a dinner. Needless to... More

Run by a couple who met at the restaurant they worked for years ago, Takazawa is located on the 2nd floor of an unassuming building in the hip roppongi area of tokyo. When we arrived, the chef's wife promptly greeted us with a big smile which made us completely at ease immediately. Takazawa-san himself also dropped whatever he was doing... More

Note - review's a bit dated (2007, 2008, 2010). My favorite restaurant of all time even as a picky foodie from Hong Kong. And I have had the chance to eat at many fine Michelin establishments such as Alinea in Chicago (chef Takazawa is good friends with Achatz btw), Jean-Georges, Waterside Inn, Ledoyen to name a few... The first time... More

My friend and I celebrated her (belated) birthday at Takazawa (you must reserve several months ahead to get a table). We had the Chef's Tasting nine-course dinner with recommended bubbly (for me). An awesome experience, the (unlisted) appetizer looked too good to eat, and tasted even better than expected. Each item on the menu was unique, each with own personality... More

We came to Tokyo at the end of our honeymoon and had booked this restaurant 3 months in advance. My expectations were quite high since I had eaten at El Bulli, Fat Duck, Noma, and many more fine restaurants all over the world and had read some wonderful reviews on chef Takazawa's exceptionally prepared mouth watering feast that we were...
