This certainly is not the place to go for a cozy or intimate meal with lots of ambience. Be prepared to feel surveyed by the sushi master and to start eating immediately after entering, and of course be prepared to drop quite a bit of money for this experience. Also, don't be ignorant about how to eat sushi, i.e. know... More

Went there for lunch with a Japanese friend, great to have a local friend who helped to translate. Sushi was so so so yummy, the best ever in life, excellent temperature, great texture, umami! The Salmon roe was the one iI like most, it was not salty at all, very soft and tasty, so different from any other salmon roe... More

Oh, you think _________ has the best Sushi? Well, you probably haven't been to Jiro's. It is better than where you had your Sushi, which probably means I'm better than you. Snob King can talk down to people in this manner because Jiro's really is a cool experience. Yes, you are spending $500 on fish and beer for two, but... More

I am impressed that in a time when education is so expensive. Sukiyabashi Jiro offers a free apprenticeship to become Master Sushi Chef. Sushi is beloved all over the world; I wish this program was offered in United States.

Had the sushi + sashimi lunch omakase (approx 25000yen~30000yen). Everything was up to standard, and very similar to what others saw in the movie. I went with my native Japanese friend, Takashi was very talkative and the service was incredible. However, the non Japanese speakers did not receive the same type of context when he was explaining the interesting stories... More

Excited to be back after 1 year. Arrived punctually for the 1pm appointment and they seem prepared to receive the 2nd group after the 1130am-1245pm group 1 Lunch is a standard 14 piece sushi procession with the usual selection of top grade stuff - fatty tuna, uni, shrimp, bonito, salmon egg, tomago etc. I was the only non-japanese that day... I have read some online clamor that the folks at Jiro are wary of non-Japanese and services was rude sometimes. I totally agree. I arrived earlier for fear I would miss the reservation, resulting in a stiff cancellation penalty. But, I was told to come back later. When I went back at the appointment time, I was the last guest... More

因緣際會臨時去Hills店敲門訂位。 訂到一個禮拜後的週末五點半的位,當天八席櫃檯位未全滿,還有兩個空位。 The sushi is fantastic. But the only one problem is, at that night Takashi san was non stop talking to a regular customer, even we asked him one dish name, he replied: 今さらこんな質問ですか... To me, the fish is magnificent, but the master is toooo snobbish... If possible, I rather spent $300 in his father/brother's restro (Ginza).

Seriously...i can understand that this is not the best sushiya in Tokyo/Japan, but i cannot understand the vitriol some reviewers have directed at this fine establishment. I must that we were initially apprehensive leading up to our meal there. We had heard many stories about the old man and his attitude towards Gaijin. I am happy to report that in... More

We were lucky enough to secure a booking from Australia over the phone before our trip during Easter to Japan. This was for our 2 year anniversary & we had an amazing experience with Jiro's son Yoshi- personally serving us. I agree with some of the reviewers that you do become quite full quickly. I felt embarrassed that I was... More
