You will be wowed though your pocket is burnt.......

While japan definitely has a lot of good sushi restaurants, for the sake of experience...good to give this a try! You are spoilt with good ingredients from soya sauce (not salty) ... (While many seemed to love the "uni" - sea urchin, they failed to explain why/how is this urchin special from... read more

We have been lucky enough to go to both the original Jiro (in Ginza) and now the 2nd store in Roppongi. Both are incredible. The fish is amazing, but the real star is the sushi rice. Words cannot describe how it melts in your mouth and perfectly blends with the different flavors of the fish. Here's the difference in the... More

I tried getting a reservation for Jiro's restaurant, but was glad to settle for a lunch reservation at Jiro's son's restaurant in the Roppongi Hills Mall (across the street from the main mall, actually, and tucked around a corner). The restaurant has no english on the front, so you should familiarize yourself with what the front looks like before you... More

There can be no doubt that UNI is my favorite sea food. Even the tiny spiny OURSIN I used to (carefully) catch (with gloves) in front of my pied-dans-l'eau summer residence near Cap Ferrat were wonderfully nutty and high in cholesterine. Here at Jiro Ono's son's joint, the UNI are superbly served, and he has certainly the best products through... More

Luckily we got dinner reservations through our hotel here. We got there early just in case but really there was no need since everyone had to have reservations to eat here. We were greeted and served hot green tea right away. The interior had no flashy decor...it was rather plain, but that's what was so cool! The focus was the... More

Since I last reviewed Sukiyabashi Jiro in November 2012, we have been back three times. The sushi continues to astound us. This visit, we brought my 11 year old son along. We warned him that he had to keep his voice low, and should appreciate the sushi pieces placed in front of him. That he did and more. His eyes... More

We went here for lunch earlier this year which was our first time, although we had lived next door for 5 years. This is the restaurant of Jiro's second son, who we found to be pretty friendly, especially after service was finished. Food was super high quality and very tasty, including the extra options available at the end. Price was... More

We had the sashimi & sushi omakase. The food is fresh but nothing special, the uni was very good though. During our meal, the chef introduced some relatively pricey items, like Toro (fatty tuna belly) and abalone, but you need to pay extra for this. In my opinion, these items should be included in the set menus as they don’t... More

We have a total of five people visiting this restaurant during our visit to Tokyo. The hotel Hilton Shinjuku concierge helped us to book the reservation. We had hard time to find it at first. It's inside a building in the second floor. Be sure to figure out where it is before you go. At beginning, it's quite intense and... More

Nonetheless to say, discrimination will never be acceptable. Cheff in front of the bar counter had been barking to impairment staff with discrimination words. Atmosphere was not lovely. He said his staff is real impairment thus he can say. If you might not be hesitated with eating with hearing discrimination, sitting face to face between the bar counter and its... More
