Heaven with each bite. Get there earlier so you can choose the best seat in the house...!

My husband and I had dined here in February and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. We had attempted to try for reservations right around 3 weeks prior to the date and boy, was it an interesting process! My japanese friend had asked her mother (who lived in Japan) to call the... read more

This restaurant is run by the son of Jiro from the Ginza subway station establishment made famous internationally in a documentary some years back. The lunch audience appeared to be predominantly non-Japanese. On the day I went the service was brisk, relatively effective but unremarkable. The sushi is good but not a great deal better than you would find at... More

When I visited, there were mostly foreigners there, and the staff behaved as if no one understood Japanese. One man's female companion had to go outside (he said she was feeling unwell, the staff concluded there had been an argument.) He asked for a bag (I guess to catch her vomit.) Yoshikazu made a snarky comment in Japanese that she... More

I was very excited to go as I had booked months in advance. I rang to reconfirm my reservation and indeed they had it. However, they were very rude. I explained that I was taking my foreign friend and they panicked saying that it was different from my promise. A young man put me on hold numerous times and I... More

This being Jiro, albeit the "other" Jiro, I had great expectations coming here. Having experienced it, I must say that the sushi is very good - but yet quite different from all those I have had before, e.g. Kyubey, Kanesaka, etc. First, the shari was very vinegary and I thought the chef was a little heavy handed with the wasabi.... Unable to get a reservation at the original Sukiyabashi, I settled for the Roppongi Hills branch. Just a note. Sushi Saito was my 1st choice. The restaurant was cozy. Sits about 12 people all around the counter. A little hard to find but everyone that works around the area knows SJ. The atmosphere was started very serious but lightened up... More

Coming from the west, I was initially apprehensive about the 5.30 - 7pm sitting at a restaurant that is clearly high end. However, we set this prejudice aside as this place came highly recommended. We arrived to find that there were just seven of us there, lined up at the bar, with Takashi and a second chef ready to prepare... More

Takashi Jiro, the younger son of the famous Jiro master has truly reached a pinnacle of sushi that really makes your tongue melt. I have never had sushi of this caliber and it was a delight. Be warned the prices are based on 3 things as far as I can tell. The talent, the fame and the michelin star rating.... More

I was thrilled to be able to go here. I couldn't see going to Tokyo without getting top-notch sushi and after seeing Jiro Dreams of Sushi this was a top choice. I was thrilled the hotel concierge could get us a reservation. I expected great sushi and a small restaurant but wasn't prepared for how small - there were only... More

It was awesome with a pleasant chat with the chef! The material was very fresh. Luckily we had it on the last evening of our trip in japan. Otherwise we would not be able to eat any sushi at the corner.
