Minimal fuss, maximum taste - where the food and its preparation are the heroes

Coming from the west, I was initially apprehensive about the 5.30 - 7pm sitting at a restaurant that is clearly high end. However, we set this prejudice aside as this place came highly recommended. Takashi Jiro, the younger son of the famous Jiro master has truly reached a pinnacle of sushi that really makes your tongue melt. I have never had sushi of this caliber and it was a delight. Be warned the prices are based on 3 things as far as I can tell. The talent, the fame and the michelin star rating.... More

I was thrilled to be able to go here. I couldn't see going to Tokyo without getting top-notch sushi and after seeing Jiro Dreams of Sushi this was a top choice. I was thrilled the hotel concierge could get us a reservation. I expected great sushi and a small restaurant but wasn't prepared for how small - there were only... More

It was awesome with a pleasant chat with the chef! The material was very fresh. Luckily we had it on the last evening of our trip in japan. Otherwise we would not be able to eat any sushi at the corner.

After seeing documentaries about the restaurant, it was a must try for us. Highly recommend that you go on an empty stomach and leave pre-conceptions of how to eat sushi at home. Follow the instructions from the chef on what to mix with the specific item of sushi/sashimi and it will help you to appreciate what you are eating all... More

Sushi is perfect, Edo Mae style. Prepare to pay $250-300 USD per person but worth your money. Book via concierge. They also speak good English and foreign tourists are allowed to take photos. Food is 5-stars. I took off one star because if you speak Japanese you can understand when he is upset with his apprentices and if you are... More

For us the highlight was the service which was very attentive and personal. The chef and many of his staff speak good English which makes a big difference if you are trying to understand what you are eating, and it was nice chatting to them and explanations on what we were eating. Needless to say, the fish was extremely fresh... More

This was a one-and-one-half hour eatathon of 20 pieces of sushi plus sashimi appetizers, being dazzled by the famous chef and his assistants, being overwhelmed by the quality and variety of the fish offered. Worth the expensive price. Very hard to find -- see other reviewers' directions and ask your concierge for detailed help before you go.

Excellent food. Come prepared with basic Japanese language for the table. It goes a long way to make the effort. Roppongi Hills is amazing as well. Worth the walk especially at night. A must try for anyone who wants sushi.

All sushi fans should try Jiro! The quality is truly amazing, after going there for lunch our attitude towards sushi elsewhere changed so much. At Jiro you will learn to appreciate high quality sushi as well as the owner's passion. Also, nice photo session with Jiro towards end! Would definitely recommend.
