If you're looking for great Indian food, try Dhaba India. There are a lot of Indian places in Tokyo, but this place delivers on delicious Southern India food. To translate, that means order the dosa. The Northern food can be hit or miss and some of the curries I didn't care for. I've been there over a dozen times and... More

I have absolutely no idea why people have rated this restaurant so high! I have had Indian food in more than a dozen countries and can tell will absolute certainty that this is no where even close to being the best Indian restaurant in Tokyo. That said, no doubt they get an upper hand on the ambiance and their serving... More

Indian food in Japan is too often "curry and nan". As if such a vast and diverse country had only one dish. What a welcome change to find authentic South Indian dishes in Tokyo, starting with masala dosai! But the place has become so popular that it is hard to find a seat. Be prepared for long waits. If you... More

Indian restaurants are nothing unusual in Japan, especially in Tokyo. But Dhaba India is a restaurant with a difference. Dhaba India offers not only some great South Indian food but also good service, and great ambience. Dhaba India is quite popular among local Japanese and non-Japanese residents alike. Most of the evenings restaurant is quite full, so you might have... More

Sample size: London, SF Bay Area, Taiwan, etc., but not India. So I am sure there are better ones in India. But even my friend Mahesh agreed it's the best in the world :-) Tandoori califlower, chettinad chicken, naan (both garlic and coconut), etc. are amazing in several ways. First, you can actually taste the attention to detail. Second, the... More

The food at this restaurant in the vicinity of Tokyo Station was excellent. However, the service was one of the worst we have experienced in Japan. This means it was still roughly average by US standards. In other words, this restaurant suffered by comparison in part from the fact that the bar in Japan is set fairly high. We were... More

Aside from the "low spicy" food category being too spicy for my taste, this restaurant is superb. It's often extremely busy so try to get a reservation in way ahead of the day you want to visit. I didn't try anything on the wide-ranging menu I didn't profoundly enjoy. It's not mainstream, but I recommend trying the salted Lassi especially... More

I don't know where all the fuss on tripadvisor is coming from. It's OK but not more than that. For everyone who has not been to Japan: There is plenty of Indian restaurants everywhere and Dhaba India quite frankly does NOT stand out of the crowd at all.
