As San Francisco Bay Area residents we normally get pretty good sushi already but wanted to try this Bento.com recommended place and it was totally worth it. We ordered 2 set menus (US$90 & US$120) and found every item (prepared in front of you of course) to be pretty much the best we ever had. Since the restaurant is inside... More

Kyubei (or kyubey if searching in a map application) is an institution that has been around since the 30's. Unlike many high-end sushi restaurants in Tokyo, Kyubei is very tourist-friendly. The sushi chefs are well-versed in English and happy to help with the basics, like when to use chopsticks or fingers. It is also possible to get a reservation at... More

Reminded of eating at Auberge du Pont de Collonges Paul Bocuse. Upon arriving at the flagship location, the old man is welcoming all the guests and (to his credit) has managed to work his restaurant into a multi-location, multi-concept mini empire. Articles to be found in the WSJ and BBC. The rooms are all small and there are no more... More

Our five point review: 1. Top quality omakase, 12-courses, the toro and horse mackerel were our favorites though every dish was top notch and fantastic. The preparation and timing of the dishes was perfect, the artistry and subtle flair of the "sushi samurai", as our chef smilingly described himself, was wonderful. Each chef has 20+ years of experience and from... More

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor my Dad and I decided this was a must do while we were here. The food is fresh as can be and you have your own personal chef for you and one or two other pairs. Bit challenging to find as the name isn't in English but once you do it is worth... More

Sushi-neta(material) and Sushi technique are well combined first class Sushi Restaurant. Price of set menue is fairly reasonable and worth to visit but don't be disappointed with lady hall staff who showed some attitude of discrimination to the guests who visit first. 寿司ネタと技術が見事に融合した一流店。セットメニューならば良心的な価格。一度は訪れたいお店。但し一見客に対する女子店員の見下した態度は頂けない。

Being avid lovers of Japanese culture, our friends and I decided to try out Kyubei in Chou during our stay at the Tokyo Prefecture. An impressive restaurant yet true to its culture, we had a great time interacting with the very hospitable chef. Accommodating and talented at best, he produced the most wonderful sushi we’ve ever had. The overall cost... More
