I tried Daiwa-sushi which is one of famous and alway has a long line to wait before, Sushi-bun which is one of my favorite sushi bar in Japan which serves very very soft texture ANAGO with very thick sweet soy source, and... read more

Great experience and wanted to make sure other travelers who value their time know about okame. To start, it's hard to know which is which so I'm including a picture of the awning. We were planning to eat at Sushi Dai which was recommended. We arrived at 6:45am to find a long line. We ditched the line when the estimated wait time was calculated to be 5hrs. We went to Okame aka "the place next door to Sushi Dai with no lines and tastes just as good..." It was Great! Amazing quality. About... More

By the time we finished the 2nd Tuna auction, the line at Sushi-Dai was 2 hour long and we needed to catch a train. Okame is the last sushi bar on the same alley as Sushi Dai and we saw quite a few local market people, with their rubber boots eating their breakfast there so we decided to give it... More

Sushi-dai and Daiwa-sushi next door get all the guidebook press, and have the lines to show for it. We decided against growling our stomachs for an hour, and instead found four seats immediately at Okame at 8:00 AM, no problem. It was a great decision. We went to Okame near the beginning of our 2.5-week stay in Japan, and it... More
