If you're looking for Tempura but at the highest level of presentation, taste, and sophistication, this is the place for you. Just be reminded that these qualities do not come cheap. Be ready to spend upwards of $120 per person. Worth it? Definitely! The $162-$190 per person....? I guess that's ok if you're making $1,000 a day.

We all know tokyo is expensive but wow!!! $190 for the top set menu and $162 for the mid???? Food is good and ambiance great but not worth it. It's fried vegetables and cooking oil.

Crunch, crunch, ... and savory are two words for Tempura, one of the most well known Japanese dishes the world are familiar with. It sounds as Japanese fast food meal, while most of tempura servings are, can we elevate these deep fried servings into something more majestic? Since the first time my colleague introduced me to Tenichi almost a decade... More

Unlike many Tempura restaurants, each piece is served one at a time to enable the eater to relish the freshness of the batter and enjoy the single piece of shrimp, prawn, sea food and vegetable. A pleasurable experience and a must try.

Two things all TripAdvisor reviewers seem to agree on about Tenichi Ginza Honten is the supreme quality of the tempura batter and the similarly supreme price. I guess you get what you pay for. In this case, the the batter covering each and every seafood or vegetable piece was sublime. It was not too flaky but somehow was not too... More

It has been around since 1930 and the quality is obviously why. It is very expensive but also a lot of food if you choose the set menu's just know you will get a lot of food. The sevice is outstanding and it is well worth finding out what good tempura tastes like.

High end/ slightly pricey tempura? Definitely. Fresh ingredients? No doubt. So what? ...Something else was different. And the answer (at lease to me) lies in the batter and the way the chef fries each piece with concentration and skill. The tempura was soft, fluffy yet crunchy and not oily...and it sure was very different from the other tempuras i've had... More

Little has changed since we were here last. The food is still excellent, the ingredients are the freshest possible, the fish the vegetables, the seafood, the rice. Who cares if Clinton and Kofi Annen ate here once, at the Ten Ichi Honten Ginza I am the top priority guest receiving the best service whenever I put my foot in the... More
