Ate there last night. We had reservations at 7 pm. Great service, people, location, setting - 5 stars. Food is above-average tempura - 4 stars. Cost is over-priced - 2-stars. (Three choices) Multi-course meals for one-person start at about $150+. Instead, me and my 14-year old son ate ali carte for about $160 total ($80/ea). Not a lot of food.The... More

We actually stumbled by mistake to this restaurant. Found out later that it happened to be one of the famous places in Tokyo. As you can see many celebrities have visited here. Set menu for lunch starting Yen 10,000 which is not cheap. The seafood was very fresh and cooked to perfection and most important not oily at all. After... More

I would never doubt the authenticity of the cuisine served at taichi , nor their craftsmanship in creating an upscale fancy tempura , however tempura for me always meant to be on the more casual end and generous portion , indeed it was sublime , crunchy and very pricey Was it worth it ? Well atleast for one visit yes... More

This is the original Ten-Ichi restaurant from a large chain. We thought we had reservations, but the hotel had forgotten to make them, however this was not a problem. If you want the best tempura cooked in front of you then this is the place. The chef spoke limited English and we spoke zero Japanese, and this did not cause... More

...even if this tempura might be some of the best you can get a price for 100 US for the cheapest menu for dinner (about 10-12 tempura) is way overpriced. It is a small restaurant inside Imperial Hotel and for the experience it is nice to sit at the "bar" where the tempura is made in front of your eyes.... More

My first meal in Japan and I was adamant that it was going to be tempura. My family and I made a reservation and we were seated promptly. Then chef then asked (in broken english) whether we wanted the set menu or the a la carte. And me, being a non vege, person was like "A LA CARTE!" We first... More

Went with hubby for lunch around 2.30 pm on a weekday, on the recommendation of a friend. We were ushered into a small dining room and served privately as there were only two of us. As soon as we were comfortably seated, they provided us with "bibs"! We were prepared (from reading the reviews) that is was going to be... More

Fantastic food quality...but value for money is non-existent. Eat a little pay alot. $72 for lunch for two people with four pieces of vegetable tempura and one prawn. Won't be going back.

Probably the best tempura I've ever eaten. Small rooms with the cook serving directly from behind the 'private' counter. Menus really nice, sake list to match. Had drinks in a separate room first, and some afterwards as well. A fantastic experience from start to finish (up to the bill, which you should expect to be equally memorable).
