We went to have a sushi breakfast at one of the market restaurants as part of the touristic must have tour. We chose, for no special reason Yamazaki restaurant. We gad to wait for about 30-40 minutes to get in. The sushi was absolutely perfect, the fish were so fresh they melted in our mouth. The price is 400 Yen... More

I love sushi and I've been in a lot of places but here it was the best in my lifetime! The staff speak a little English and the line, about an hour really worth it. We had the tuna, the medium fatty tuna and the fatty tuna, try every piece so you can taste the difference between the three. It's... More

I visited Yamazaki for a late breakfast at around 11am, and had to wait about 20 minutes to get a seat. We were served tea in the queue and had a nice chat with the owner. The food itself is incredible - we had one of the cheaper sushi sets, plus some fatty tuna, and we were just blown away... More

The sushi at Yamazaki was one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo, easily the best sushi we have ever eaten. The service was great, our chef was talented and friendly. It is a really special experience to have each piece of sushi made fresh in front of you. There was no queue when we arrived at 08:45am, but... More

Having eaten at Sushi Kanaseka (good but overpriced), Kyubey (very, very good - we're returning this evening) and various other sushi restaurants in our Japanese travels, it took this tiny place at Tsukiji market to totally blow us away. This was the freshest, sweetest tasting sushi we'd ever eaten. Don't get caught up in the set menus, order what looks... More

The sushi here is second to none. You can't beat the freshness of the fish at Tsukiji. Stunning flavours, definitely recommended on a trip to Tokyo (maybe even more than once).

As many other reviewers have stated, this shop is much less crowded than some of the other shops in Tsukiji Market. It's also cleaner and friendly to non-Japanese speakers. Both the chirashi and sushi we had here were great. Very fresh and well-prepared. Prices were maybe a tad higher than some other places, but not out of line for Tsukiji.... More

I went to this sushi restaurant after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. It's true that the queue is not as long as the ones surrounding it. On the day we went there was quite a long wait. The lady who is the mother of the chefs served is hot tea while we waited outside. It is a small restaurant and... More

I tried both places in the same week. The wait was shorter at Yamazaki and it was a bit cheaper as well. There was less monitoring of the line, which could have been a hassle (luckily the people around us were honest and didn't try to go ahead of us). There are more menu options here than Sushidai. We ordered... More

As per previous reviews ... look out for this perfect sushi restaurant sat immediately in the middle of the two restaurants on the Tour Route. Why would you line up for over an hour as part of their slow drip feed entry programme, when you can easily go sit down in Yamazaki ... safely, comfortably ... and enjoy some of... More
