You've probably heard of Sukiyabashi Jiro from the documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi." It's a three-Michelin star spot that serves a 18-21 course omakase set for around $450 a head. Reservations are nearly impossible to get, and need to be made one month in advance. I went to Jiro to see if this was really the best sushi out there,... More

I know this is a world renowned place, which is why i went (watch jiro dreams of sushi on Netflix before you go). But for lunch, it felt very rushed (half an hour) and I couldn't fully enjoy it. Also, jiro himself wasn't there, although his son was. But that was disappointing.

Guess what?!!! God is sooooooo amazing! Since we are leaving Tokyo right after lunch, and I didn't see Jiro San on Monday, I didn't expect to see him today at all! But I did!!! God loves me too much I really can't describe or thank him enough! Praise my amazing Lord! PS Jiro San and Yoshikazu San were so kind... More

It's supposed to be hard to get a reservation if you don't speak any Japanese but we were able to get the Concierge at our hotel, The Mandarin Oriental, with an advanced notice to be able to get us our reservation. So if you know in advance when you're coming to Tokyo and you're staying at a nicer hotel this... More

【http://missneverfull.com/tokyo-sukiyabashi-jiro-honten-ginza/】The food was not bad, shari was pretty balanced. My favorite was 'SHAKO', it was amazing. But for tuna, i prefer to go Sushi Tokami, and other pieces Harutaka-san did a better job. While the entire dining experience was quite disappointing, only 25 min for a meal, the service was under average in Japan. Not worth 3.5k+. Still prefer Harutaka.

This is the Mecca of sushi .... After watching the documentary and watching him prepare and serve you , is amazing. However much too serious, they as you not to speak too loud or interact with others. The restaurant only seats 6 , they do not subsitute the menu for you , however they can charge additional fees for additions.

Our sons, serious foodies like us, briefed us on the "Sushi heaven" of Jiro-san, and showed us the movie. We soon decided it was worth the trip from Finland. Getting a reservation was surprisingly easy, once we realized, that a personal visit by a Japanese person is the most efficient reservation method. The combination of the delicious sushi prepared from... More

A hurried message for an impromptu dinner, and after more than two years of trying, a bucket-listed reservation (a must! there are absolutely no walk-ins) at Sukibayashi Jiro. Needless to say, we were early, and my friends briefed me on the low down of "Jiro Gastronomy", from his book of the same name (also available at the store counter, signed... More

Jiro has been on my Bucketlist for some time, I saw the DVD and I had to use all my connections in Tokyo to get a counterseat for lunch; As usually the Restaurant was fully booked - to my surprise more "Geijin's" (Foreigners) than Japanese customers, except translators. As expected this was Sushi at it's very best - a set... More
