A little fishy for me but wonderful

So, I didn't realize until we were almost here that the Tonkotsu broth served here is also mixed with a fish based broth. I generally do not like fish soups, but their ramen was excellent. I did notice that as it cooled off it got decidedly fishier, and I probably would not go here again but it was... read more

Be prepared to queue, as the place is filled with locals. But its worth waiting. Creamy soup and properly prepared noodles and toppings will certainly make you come back. Buy ticket outside and enter. No english materials are provided but just ask person near you what you should order or judge from the pictures on the buttons of the ticket... More

Down a few shops from Rokurinsha is Ikaruga, another famous shop from Kudanshita. The queue is fortunately shorter and turn over rate of tables are pretty high. The best-selling ramen is 特製らー麺 980yen , a deep bowl of noodles in tonkatsu broth blended with bonito and konbu. This kind of fusion broth is also commonly known as "W-Soup", which claims to... More

Rich soup, succulent pork, springy noodles, tasty tamago. There's nothing I didn't like. I've been twice now, and will be going back more often.

We decided to try this ramen restaurant because it was really close to our hotel and we were looking for a simple meal. We also noted the relatively high TripAdvisor ratings from other reviewers, all of which were written in Japanese. We attempted to decipher those reviews using Google translator, and got hilarious results. I offer this review in part... More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
