Famous, good, .... but not exceptionnal

Even if Elio is one of the most famous restaurant in Tokyo, and even if the meals are delicious, and the welcome is as only Italian people know to be warm and nice, it can not be compared to an italian restaurant in Italy. If you miss good South Italian cuisine, this is the place you should go. The foods are very nice using fresh and natural ingredients and services are superb. You will never be disappointed. The only problem is Elio is always crowded.

We ate here the evening before the Tokyo marathon and the home made pasta was delicious. Our waiter Roberto treated us like VIPs, and his food and wine recommendations were outstanding. The atmosphere in the restuarant is lively which added to the authentic atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for great Italian food in Tokyo.

This is a great place to get some Italian food while in Tokyo. We were the only tourists on site that evening since the place was packed with locals, which we took to be a good sign! They have lots of menu offerings (both food and wine), and everything was tasty and cooked perfectly. Desert could have been better, but... More

Stepping into Elio Laconda is like stepping into Italy! Busy, noisy, full of happy people enjoying great food. And its like that very night and even at lunch time. This is not a tourist destination, nearly all the clientele are local residents...most of them Japanese. But unlike other Italian places in Tokyo, Elio has not comprised at all in serving... More

Went there with colleagues. We only had 1 hour and they managed to serve us 3 courses in that time. The food is really good and the service very friendly. Also got free prosecco (but this I think is due to my colleagues being regular clients).

After many weeks in Tokyo, as an italian and a vegetarian, I was starting to feel somehow out of place with regards to food. Elio has turned this around, with excellent and truly italian food, coupled with friendly and professional service, which made me feel at home. All dishes are made to the italian taste and Elio's "vertical integration" (he... More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
