I love everything about Payag :) The classic Payag inasal is a must try when in Tagbilaran City. I couldn't recall all of their menu but I've eaten a lot of times there to have sampled a good number of dishes. Always filling and delicious.

We tried eating here as this got good rating from "Ang pinaka" show in GMA7. Thought this has something extra-ordinary to offer but they serve just the same food as the other. Maybe the only thing different from their menu is the sinuglaw. Their sizzling gambas was a disappoinment. It was all sauce and small shirmps. Their sinigang is all... More

The Payag restaurant is all about chicken. It starts with the deco of the restaurant and it ends with the menu being served. If you are looking for a special tasting chicken BBQ, this is the place! …..and on top of it for a very reasonable price!

This restaurant was recommended by our rental van driver when we asked him for a cheap must eat restau in Tagbilaran. A.K.A. Jo's Chicken Inato but more commonly known for its Payag name. Got there around 8:30pm since we came from Panglao that day and needed to check in first at El Portal Inn. I think we came just in... More

this was my second visit to payag/jo's chicken inato. the first time we sat indoors - i have never seen so many chicken representations in my life (porcelain, paint, tapestry, metalwork, etc). it would be worth going there just to see the decorations this time we sat in the more open section where the birds are cockatoos not chickens, and... As far as I know, this was the first restaurant in Tagbilaran which served barbecued chicken and pork. This is definitely one of those places which Filipinos abroad look for when they come to visit Bohol. The barbecued chicken is their specialty. I also like the fried isol and their fish kinilaw. Now, they are serving unlimited rice in their... More

The first floor was full, so we were led up to second floor. Interiors had a collection of roosters. Very interesting and amusing. Kept us entertained while waiting for our food. Chicken and pork barbecue with unlimited rice for P123; had sauteed vegetables (pakbet); kinilaw (ceviche) fish with coconut milk (different- worth trying) with crunchy pork rind topping; generous buko... A few steps from the main entrance to Alona Beach, just across the parking lot, Payag is a good alternative from the touristy restaurants that line up Alona Beach. Don't get discouraged by the plastic sheets draped all over the entrance, you'd think it's closed and under construction - it's there to keep the dust from the ongoing road construction... More
