This charming little restaurant in the heart of Saint Chinian (France) serves a good selection for the luncheon Plat du jour. The service was at a relaxed pace, not to be confused with slow. In France eating is an experience, a time to savour the food, and talk of many things in pleasant surroundings. our foursome had good food at... More

I went here at the Beginning of September. It was a Monday and most places in the village were closed, with little choice we had a meal here. We went for the set menu €25 for 4 courses. The food quality was excellent, found it very good value for money. We managed to get by on what little French we... More

We went to this restaurant twice during our week as it was such good value. The 25 euro menu included pan fried foie gras with chutneys and spiced bread ( which was exquisite) and fillet of beef. There was also a fantastic 15 euro menu which my two 12 year olds enjoyed along with a children's menu for my younger... More

Found Le Village to be far better than expected. The entree was a little above average (what else can you do with charcuterie) but the plat de jour cochon and olives was perfectly cooked slowly yet not too much. Service, while a little impersonal, did everything we needed. For instance we were directed to a table and the waiter then... More

One of a few places open on a Monday night. I had the beef brochette and it was cooked perfectly. This is the second time here and I will definitely return for great food and excellent service.

Le Village have reinstated the full menus so it's back to the wider choice, including things you won't find at other St Chinian restaurants (kidneys, pork cheeks...). The crepes are still on offer, but now amongst a wide dessert selection, all included in the fixed price menus, even the ice creams heavily laced with spirits. You even get a straw... More

We didn't know Le Village before it changed formats, so we approached it as a restaurant with a pretty creative creperie menu, with the option of several other dishes on the menu for those who don't want to make a meal of crepes. Our food was good, and the other plates that we saw come out of the kitchen looked... More

First night in St Chinian went for a meal in the Le Village. Found the waitress helpful and she had a very pleasant manner. Food was really great and wine really cheap and I mean really cheap. Nice price for the meal and ate outside by the church next to the road. Second time around a total different beat. The... More

We had been to Le Village several times a year ago, and loved it. We went back there again on our return to Saint-Chinian, and what a disappointment! It is now primarily a Creperie. Gone are the wonderful, creative menus! You are still able to get a full meal there, but the selection is extremely limited, and the final price... More

Le village has changed hands fairly recently and has become a creperie that also serves steak and burgers. The food is fine, but nothing special, the same applies to the service ... OK but not that great. Its a shame as the guys who has this restaurant before were very friendly and the food was good and wholesome and served... More
