Went with friends and had a lovely evening. The food was excellent, the service both efficient and friendly and the surroundings beautiful. It was getting dark as we arrived but we did have enough time to enjoy the garden and the sculptures. We thought it fairly expensive but good value and will certainly return.

This was our second visit this year and it will be the last. The service was brusque. The food was mostly good but there was a large party in and we felt our food suffered as a result. We were looking forward to the Tasting Menu but were told it was not available due to the large party. The langoustines... More

We visited for dinner on 2 August. The service was slow and we then had to make a polite complaint about one of the courses. The proprietor, Julie Griffiths, was incredibly rude - I don't think I've ever come across a woman so ill-suited to running a restaurant. Be warned. We left before coffee and paid in full. Naturally Mrs... More

My husband and I visited for lunch for our anniversary. Having lived in the area for many years we had always wanted to eat here as we had heard good things, we were not disappointed. Firstly, the grounds are beautiful, equal parts manicured lawns and wild garden with mature plants and trees. The sculptures are a wonderful addition to the... More

Well we went for a birthday lunch to the SCN yesterday, the setting is beautiful, the food is expensive but fairly average and the staff are arrogant. Julie the owner gives you the impression she is doing you a favour. We used to visit the SCN years ago in the 70's and I thought the arrogance of the owner may... More

Its a lovely place with absolutely top-class food. The grounds are a delight. Over the years (decades!) we have been going there and never been disappointed. Julie and her staff are as friendly and professional as you will find anywhere.

At the beginning of this survey, I was asked was this the best meal that I have ever had in a restaurant. Well it came a close third toe the waterside inn at Bray and The Langham. The chef is truly one of the most imaginative chefs that I have had the pleasure to encounter. I have dined there twice... More

Where to go for lunch was the dilemma faced by my wife and I. We'd spent a couple of days working hard in the garden and wanted a suitable reward. We are extremely lucky to have a plethora of fine dining within a twenty mile radius, but after a lot of thought, we decided we would go to the Sir... More

Visited this restaurant for the 1st time in about 20 years; my wife had not been for 40 years! Great welcome and a fantastic menu. If you are a soffle fan then you will be in heaven. Fantastic smoked haddock souffle starter and a greengage souffle for dessert, with "Tokaji" to follow. Not cheap but well worth it. Must save... More
