Great. Pub restaurant. Michelin star. Good bar and lovely staff. Lovely food too. Smashing comfortable sofa's and always busy and popular. We've eaten here several times and will eat again.

I have been here a few times now, and what can I say, you get what you pay for, and the price is softened and irrelevant almost, when you experience this place, I was recommended to Charles Napier by locals, and they weren't wrong, the gardens and internal decor and layout is great, then service, well again great, and then... Hidden away on Bledlow Ridge down charming Chiltern country lanes The Sir Charles Napier serves food of distinction with a wine list that is both reasonable and complete for anyone's particular palette or occasion. A special favourite for lunch or dinner. In the summer having pre dinner drinks in inspired English garden is just a further addition to this restaurant's... More

The Sir Charles Napier was an amazing revelation. Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, clearly a restaurant for "those in the know". Cozy warm atmosphere. Impressive wine list, not so much for its volume, but rather the variety and diversity of wines on offer. As well as the reasonable pricing. The food was a revaluation. One of the best... More

11of us ate here last night. The food was amazing , we all had the tasting menu, perfect choice. We also opted for the wine flight, each wine had been carefully selected, and was delivered with knowledge and enthusiasm. The service throughout the evening was excellent, we could not fault anything. Thank you all at the Charles Napier

Food is good. Portions very small - service somewhat slow. Quality of food is good - however overall experience not wholly positive.

We gave excellent review on the Sir Charles Napier for New Years Day Lunch last year. This year we are back but second time around not as good! The food this time was good. The starter and sweet were excellent but we were let down by the main course. The roast beef we had was tepid. This time around the... More

Don't believe the poor reviews, this place is very good. Beautiful old inn set in a scenic location. Warming log fires in the winter and pleasant outside garden for the summer. The menu is well balanced and full of seasonal specialities and local produce. Venison, pheasant and ox cheeks were all very good. Good selection of fish and vegetarian options.... More
