It is strange that this restaurant does not have a star... After eating in a lot of different michelin restaurants - this is better than the most of them! After asking the owner why they didi not have a star or two, he replied that having happy customer was better than the Michelin stars:)

Totally the upscale restaurant in the La Nucia area. Great service, food well presented, good wine selection, delicious servings - but the waiters were just a little too arrogant to my questions regarding wine selection.

We came here for the 3rd time on Christmas day for lunch and asked a couple friends to join us...fix menu, including wine and all drinks...well, it was fantastic, nice portions, good mix of flavours, very interesting and creative, best of the 3 meals we have had here...service perfect...and our friends, who live here, thought it was the best dinner... We first came to El Xato last year and had wanted to return many times. Once we had this chance, of course we had to let friends know we were going and so there were 11 of us for lunch. The menu is mouthwatering and the wine list one of the most extensive in the region - really, the bodega... More

The Michelin guide pointed us in the direction of El Xato. If you are at the coastal area of the Costa Blanca, it is not obvious to have lunch or dinner at this restaurant. However, we certainly recommend to go here. The food is very good, Spanish with a twist. Lovely tapas-like entrees, accompanied by different types of bread. A... More

This is a special restaurant. I went with my Norwegian friends to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. We had the taster menu and a wonderful selection of wines selected for us. Highly recommended

We had the menu lunch on August 9. A few starters and then a "meloso" rice dish with bonito, the small local tuna. Tasty enough, followed by another local delicacy, the "horchata" icecream. However, 3 hours later we both were struck with a bad case of loose bowels that kept us near the toilet for the entire evening and with... More

What a lovely meal and the accompanying wine was amazing. Amazing price for the a la carte meal we enjoyed and the staff and service was impeccable. Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful night we had whilst celebrating my wife's birthday. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I must say the terrific reviews persuaded me to book. What an experience, the food was definately Michelin. We had the new tasting menu which was outstanding quality and wonderful flavours. With each course we had the various wines to... More

This restaurant is a the perfect place to enjoy with good food and marvellous wines. They are going to advise and suggest. The best part is that you can trust because in the end the bill will not be as expensive as you would expect.
