You have to try this place; the tapas are so good! Instead of the usual deep fried stuff in so many of the touristy tapas bars this place offers modern, fresh dishes which are an absolute pleasure to eat. We have been twice so far for lunch, sat at the bar both times and have enjoyed excellent service too. There... More

happened by chance upon this amazing restaurant with our three children. The black rice paella was delicious. Our best meal in Alicante by far.

We found this restaurant through the trip advisor website and the good reviews were bang on the mark. Ok, it isn't on the seafront and doesn't have an outside eating area but this is made up for by the atmosphere and the superb food. We ate the Tapas menu and in the end we couldn't eat it all. A real... More

Unprepossessing entrance - but go in! Preferably make a booking in advance because this is a popular restaurant. We are not great tapas fans, partly because there are too many decisions to make, but on strong recommendations we visited this restaurant. The welcome was excellent and we were speedily offered menus and drinks. They offer a "Table d'Hote" menu at... More

We went to this restaurant following a recommendation from the hotel porter, it is not a place I would have selected based on the exterior, but it had been recommended and we were late out for our meal so we went with it. Inside it is a little bit of a culture shock for someone from the UK, very busy... More

I had a business dinner here as part of a group of 24 people with a predefined menu. Service was very fast and precise notwithstanding the big number of people around our table. The food was truly good and I had a wonderful cod main dish. The only defeat was that they changed the red wine after the first part... More

We went last night on the spur of the moment as it was close to our hotel. We did not realise we were in for a treat. Atmosphere was great and the place was full with Spanish locals. Service impeccable and the food was modern, fusion and faultless. Great choice on the menu. A word of warning to visitors to... More

Quite amazing food, we were the only English in the restaurant, which was completely full with almost all Spanish, which tells you a lot. It's in a quiet street off the main tourist area. Ham croquettes, fried aubergines, baby clams (tellinas), black pudding (morcilla) served with egg and potatoes, catalan bread with olive oil and tomatoes. all quite superb. Bill... More

La Taberna was an excellent choice located easily just off The Esplanade in Alicante, SP. Nice decor, great food, attentive staff. Great choice for our mid afternoon (Spanish style) lunch for four (4).
