Great atmosphere, lovely waitress. Really enjoyed a night out, great food and service, want to go back soon . Alicante is great for a night out, lots of restaurants and wine bars and pubs, always a friendly crowd. All the foods really well cooked. Quite expensive but worth it. Thoroughly recommended

We agree with a previous reviewer who called this restaurant a hidden gem. We had lunch here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. When we walked through the door, we were impressed with the appearance of the restaurant, the tables were fully set, (it is always nice to see table cloths and linens), and it looks a good quality establishment. We... More

This place is trying really hard to serve Michelin star style food, but failing, albiet magnificently, with every dish. We got their tasting menu, and everything was interesting, but alas not very tasty.

Some good reviews on here and now my experience and thoughts. We have been to the restaurant before, so did know (we thought) what to expect. Reserved a table for 21.00 hrs. Arrived at 21.05 only to be directed towards the door and told would have to wait for 10 - 20 minutes (They were brushing the floor). Asked if... More

A lot of thought and effort has gone into the dishes served, the presentation is very good indeed. I had three courses, two starters and a main. The fois pate was lovely and the large prawns which were wrapped in what I can only descibe a weetabix were excellent (honestly they tase much better than this description). The beef main... More

We went for dinner at the Amalia on the 8th June after reading the reviews on tripadvisor, the meal was even better than I had expected. We chose the taster menu and a nice bottle of wine from their extensive list. All the courses as they arrived were described, all made with locally sourced produce, all wonderful. The staff couldn't... More

Visited Amalia last week with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend. They have no English menu (for which the owner apologised) so we relied on my daughter and boyfriend to translate. I am sure that the waiting staff would have helped if we had not been fortunate enough to be eating with native/fluent Spanish speakers. Between us we tried both... More

The kitchen of this restaurant certainly prepares the dishes with passion and care. Excellent choice of wines. Situated on the first floor above shops, not a particularly attractive facade and could be easily missed, so be careful not to pass, as you could regret it. Certainly not 'pretentious' like some of the other 'better' restaurants in the city.
