A nice place to eat

We spent three days in alicante and decided to try spiga's having read other reviews. It was nice, the food was good, having said that it was nothing spectacular. It was also the dearest meal we had during our stay.

I went for lunch with my partner and order the spaghetti with half a lobster. When it arrived, the lobster wasn't cooked properly, it was partly raw. A lobster has to be cooked at over 70 degrees to kill the bacteria, and that one hadn't. I told the waiter, who took the dish away. I thought the lobster was going... More

Very good food, both pasta and pitsas. We went twice to this restaurant. First I had the best Calzone pizza I have had. The second time I had black pasta with tiger prawns. So good, the house wine was also the best. Good service

My wife and I went there on El Noche de Huegeros. Alicante was full of people and buzzing with atmosphere. Spiga is in The Old Town just behind the Town Hall. I am not a fan of pizzas and would rarely order one by my seafood pizza was exceptional, 3 huge giant prawns in their shells, mussels, shrimps, freshly made... More

Spiga is not as good as it used to be having changed hands/owners. The service is good and very friendly but the food quite average and could be better. Reasonably priced, but not sure I would go back again.

After our last trip to Alicante in 2013, owners have changed. To be honest, also the quality have changed... After good experiences from last time, we really looked forward to eat there again, but it was a little disappointment. Still a pretty good place and plenty of crowd, but not as wonderful place anymore as it was a year and... More

Went to this restaurant when we stayed in Alicante 2 years ago, and it is still as good. We stayed for 5 nights and we went for dinner here 2 nights. I went for a pizza which was really thin and delicious and had a lovely pasta dish the next time, the garlic pizza bread is to die for!!

Very good pizza and pasta. They use fresh ingredients and real mozzarella. Many places use canned toppings but not here. If im in the mood for a good pizza, I go here. Its also very well priced for the quality and portions.

Spiga restaurant is just about the only restaurant in a street of restaurants where you do not get someone with a plastic book of photographs of somewhat plastic looking food thrust at you with a request to sit down!! It does not need to do this because it serves quality food at reasonable but not cheap prices. It must be... More
