Great Pub Grub

... on many occasions pub grub has a habit of letting you down, many pubs are now chains and it leaves the customer consuming same old conveyor belt menus and food. How refreshing it was a come across 'The Royal Oak' at Brandon. Personally I have not been to this pub in almost 20 years and I still... read more

Had a meal here with family for Easter. Really nice traditional pub/restaurant and menu, and great service. We have 2 young daughters and they were well catered for with a great children's menu, not just the usual chicken nuggets!! Cost is really reasonable too, highly recommended.

Good parking access and a nice clean pub overall. Main course was lovely, a delicious chicken and mushroom pie! Great portion! HOWEVER there is room for improvement with the starters and desserts. Adding more variety would be nice, as there is little to choose from in comparison to other food serving Pubs.

This was a return trip to this very popular restaurant/pub and we were not disappointed. Everything that we judge a restaurant by was A1 - appearance, cleanliness, service, food and drink, price - well done to all. The 2-4-1 deal is really good and served with big wholesome portions. TIP: The whitebait starter is plenty for 2 people and is... More

This pub has 2 big car parks so plenty of room to park. We went for lunch on a Wednesday and it was very busy but we did not have to wait long for our meals which with the 2 for 1 deal on that day made them very good value for money. Food was hot and tasty and the... More

Took my parents here for a meal celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. This pub and restaurant is always busy with customers and this is no doubt due to its popularity. It has a great atmosphere, cask ales and fantastic food. There is a small playground at the back for children and a coffee bar/lounge area. We have been here several... More

We went in for a drink at lunchtime but the food looked so nice that we ended having some. We were not disappointed. The menu has got some lovely choice (pub classics and great British cuisine), the plates were full and the food that was obviously freshed, not microwaved rubbish, was delicious. On top of this, the staff were so... More

Tucked on a corner on a small country lane this Tavern was a real treat and surprise. Menu was fairly wide, with platters of food being well loaded. If you only want a snack stick with the starter and desserts otherwise you will need a long walk to help ease the helpings. We had 2 meals there, late lunch and... More
