Excellent!

Been here twice now. First time for lunch and just the other Friday evening for dinner. The young man working there was extremely friendly, serving us drinks whilst we waited five minutes or so for our table and chatting away! I had fish, chips and mushy peas which was a huge portion! I think... read more

Popped in on the off chance while out for a drive. The restaurant was full but there was plenty of room in the lounge area. I preferred it there as it was a little quieter. Only had one course but both meals were really good and the staff were very nice. Don't live that close but we will be going... More

We visited this restaurant as we were passing through the village. We didn't book and it was a Sunday. All the tables were reserved but they managed to squeeze us in. Great selection on the menu, reasonable price, quick service and good children's selection. High chair also clean and harness in full working order (people with children I'm sure you... More

I have eaten here several times recently and the food has always been exceptional. The faggots are fantastic as were the rump steaks. 2 for one deals in the afternoon make this a priority venue if you are looking for excellent food at incredible prices. I cannot rate this country pub highly enough. You will not be disappointed!

I was staying overnight in the area and picked this pub/restaurant at random. I had an idea it might be good when I phoned on Saturday afternoon to book and was told they didn't have a free table until 8.30! I took this as a good sign and was not disappointed. As soon as I entered I liked the feel... More

Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and was very busy. We managed to find a table for the both of us and decided to have scampi and chips each. It was fantastic!! A very generous portion of scampi as well. We shall be coming back!!

We recently dined here whilst staying at the nearby Brandon Hall Hotel and would highly recommend this establishment. The food was definately a cut above your usual pub chain fayre and worth the small extra cost that you pay for very good quality homecooked food,we were impressed with both the service and atmosphere and left with that contented feeling of... I ate here one Monday night whilst away with work. The menu had plenty of variety plus clear veggie and gluten free options. There were also a number of specials making it difficult to choose. I went for salt and pepper squid which was divine; thick tender pieces in a light batter not the usual skinny, chewy bits you so... More
